Great educational toy for the price. November 19, 2007 Reviewer:  Denise H (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for the toddlers/preschoolers in my day care. Everyone likes it and it is extremely helpful for the active child who doesn't like to sit and play with toys or who is a visual hands on learner. Within the first month of buying it one of the children, who just turned two, could tell me what all the letters were. Wish they made one for numbers, shapes and colors.

"Magnets make the wrong sound" November 29, 2006 Reviewer:  Mom of two little ones (Little Rock, Arkansas)  See all my reviews >

My son received the Fridge Phonics for Christmas '05 and at
least half of the magnets said the wrong letter. I took it back and exchanged it for a set with letters and numbers. The second set had magnets that said the wrong letter AND the wrong sound (or made no sound at all.) This toy is a
waste of money if you're trying to teach your child letter
and number recognition. I will say my child enjoyed hearing
the alphabet song.

All the letters did NOT all work! December 27, 2005 Reviewer:  SQuick See all my reviews >

My sister got this toy for my 3yr son for Christmas (2005). He loved it, but NOT all the letters worked. So I took it back for a even exchange. We got the new one home and tried it out and that one did not work properly. My son was very disappointed. Now I'll try again. Hopefully third time is a charm.

DAMAGING to FRIDGE!! June 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Danielle Rian Real Name See all my reviews >

This is the worst toy I could have gotten for my kids. It absolutely scratched up my brand new black whirlpool fridge. It was only out for a day before I realized all the damage it had caused. It shows up the worst in the day where it looks dirty and scuffed. Nothing removes the scratches! Whirlpool told me they would have to replace both doors which would be well over 1000.00! I called the company and they were ignorant. They tried to offer me a different toy. They never took responsibility for the damage it caused my appliance. I have called consumer affairs to report this as a defective toy. They (Leapfrog) even claims it scratches the surfaces on the back of the box.....but they said only stainless steel which is a LIE! My fridge is not Stainless steel. BUYER BEWARE!!

Good for teaching the different sounds of the letters June 26, 2007 Reviewer:  Momx2 (North Carolina)  See all my reviews >

My son got this for Christmas last year and really loved it for the first couple of days. Since then, he plays with it every now and then, but if given the choice, he really would rather sit down with one of his wooden alphabet puzzles (no sounds or frills...thank goodness!) I do like the fact that it teaches the sound that the letter makes as well as the actual letter. It seems durable and educational, but as far as the long-lasting fun factor goes, I would only rate it 3 stars.

A must have for kids November 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Stephen Curren "DawnC" Real Name (Palmer, AK)  See all my reviews >

This toy has lasted in our house with 5 kids for 4 years!
Very durable. For some reason the kids just love it and can repeat every single letter just like it does.

Every kid needs to have this toy! November 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Kimberly (Long Island, NY)  See all my reviews >

This toy is great! My daughter got it for her 2nd birthday, and spent the past year with the letters and speaker stuck to my steel front door, putting in a new letter every time she passes it, or thinks of it. She has played with it every day, as has all of her friends that come over to play. When she was younger she got a kick out of spending hours switching the letters in and out, but it really helped her learn all her letters and the sounds that each of them makes. Today, she's 3 years and 2 months and she not only knows every letter and it's sound, she's starting to spell things on her own by sounding out the letters! Awesome must-have educational toy!

Good for learning letters September 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Sarah Catlin-Dupuy Real Name (Columbia, Missouri)  See all my reviews >

My 20-month-old liked his friend's Fridge Phonics, but he tired of it pretty quickly when I bought one for him. Unlike other reviewers, all the letters were correctly identified by our reader.

GREAT FOR ALL AGES!!!!.......... November 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Rach (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

I couldn't get my son to learn the alphabet... So my sister recomended this, toy because she is a teachers aid and she uses it at work.... In LESS THAN 1 WEEK, my son not only learned the ABC's but most of the letters to.
My toddler also played with toy and she to knows the alphabet and some letters...she also likes to seperate the letters by colors...
Also, when my nephew comes over, he plays with it to, he just started kindergarden so he's just learning to read and this toy helps him sound out the words.
I like it because they stick to my my stainless steel fridge and no marks are made considering the way my little girl rubs the letters on it, and also stays great on my washing machine. And I'm surprized that my kids havn't lost any letters yet, since they r good at loseing their toys that have many peices.
I only wish it came with a storage place for letters so when we travel, but a ziplock bag work just as well.

Finally a toy that my nephew can't break... November 2, 2009 Reviewer:  Iheartmynephew "Iheartmynephew" (Okc, OK)  See all my reviews >

This is a great educational toy, and it's incredibly durable. My nephew got this toy a year ago, and he loves it. It still works great, even after landing on the kitchen tile many, many times. The letters are easy to wipe off with a damp cloth, and they fit perfectly in little hands.
