I ordered 2 of these to flank a tv console. I was shocked at how heavy each of the shipping boxes was - about 100 pounds each...

The shelves went together relatively easily, but the black cardboard backings were apparently packed while the glue was still wet & were unusable with pieces of tissue packing paper glued to the black cardboard. The shelves look okay without backs, but beware this is probably how yours will arrive as well.

Pleased with bookshelves (bought 2) - but 1 box was open on end and was missing half of screws & pegs - have to request replacements before can put together the 2nd shelf unit. Looks good, very functional.
