Bad packaging January 18, 2009 Reviewer:  Unhappy Customer (Rochester, NY, USA)  See all my reviews >

My wife bought this and the first time we started assembling this we noticed that they packed 2 left sides, the second time we opened it and one of the main pieces was cracked. So now I'm hoping to go to another Target to see if I can exchange for another one and it better be correct. This is very frustrating.

EASY ASSEMBLY - GREAT PRICE - LOOKS "REAL" December 7, 2008 Reviewer:  eurosparkle (Atlanta, GA USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought and put together myself the 3-tier shelf when I was 8 months pregnant. It took me about 2 hours with a non-electric screwdriver.

It is heavy, so I had a CSR carry it to my car and my sister brought it in the house for me.

All the pieces where in tact and in good condition and the instructions were very clear. They also included a few extra pieces, which I thought was nice in case I lost or damaged one. I saved them with instructions. I had NEVER assembled this type of pre-fab furniture before and I felt like I got through it with ease, even working around my HUGE belly.

It was cheap...cheaper than any shelf I could find in the same size and style.

It looks great. It looks like some imported piece from [an upscale store]; not at all like some veneered pre-fab piece. Everyone who stops by comments on how good it looks and asks where I got it.

A feature I didn't think of when I got it are the legs. It makes it look sleek and I LOVE being able to sweep and mop under the shelf.

Best Bookcases for the Price December 29, 2008 Reviewer:  Mommy4 (Canaan, IN)  See all my reviews >

I bought three of these over a year ago (a two-shelf and 2 three-shelves) and they are absolutely beautiful and functional. All of mine are loaded with books and they have held up wonderfully. They look sleek and stylish at a price I can afford. They don't look or feel like typical fiberboard bookcases. I plan on buying at least two more.

Flimsy, Cheap and Pain to Assemble April 10, 2009 Reviewer:  LPicardster (Seattle)  See all my reviews >

Found these on sale so I purchased four pieces, three of which were the 5-shelf cases. None of the three came out the same so they don't line up. They look best from a distance and in dim light. They are super flimsy and the bolts were a total pain and many wouldn't lock flush. I've put together dozens of kit furniture and this was one of the worse by far. Now I regret spending [so much] on the collection and it's too late to return since they're assembled and too large to take back. Target would likely tell me I didn't put them together correctly anyway.

Junk. Don't Bother April 5, 2009 Reviewer:  EG from MI "MBAEM" (Newport, MI)  See all my reviews >

The frame is little more than cardboard. It is not structurally sound. It looks pretty unless you actually have to more or use it. When I went to move this to another room, it split and fell apart. It is not worth the money and I have already complained to Target that they should not be selling thing item.

I ordered two and one came completely destroyed. It is not packaged well. The one that wasn't destroyed still had cosmetic defects, which at the time I accepted, b/c I didn't know the other bookshelf was so damaged, otherwise I would have returned both.

Again, don't bother. You will be sorely disappointed.

Fits right in with my Lane bedreeom furniture March 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Camper See all my reviews >

I looked everywhere for a piece to put my smaller plasma tv and cable box on and when i stumbled upon this bookcase i was so excited. I was a little weary about purchasing it since the reviews are so mixed. When we put this bookcase together it looked wonderful! It looks like it was purchased right along with my Lane bedroom set that i spend several thousands of dollars on!! It certainly doesnt look like I only spent money!! Thank you Taget for helping me solve my tv stand dilemma!

Great looking furniture March 22, 2009 Reviewer:  Mrs. Roos (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

I didn't read the reviews for this (5 shelf bookcase) until after we bought it. We hadn't put it together yet and I was kind of scared that pieces would be broken or we wouldn't have the correct pieces. Much to my surprise, all the correct pieces were there and all were correct and we had all the right hardware. (we've gotten furniture from Target before that didn't have the hardware and had to search far and wide for a replacement). This looks great, was easy to put together and is very sturdy. The description says that all sides are finished but that's not true. The whole back isn't finished, but it's the back; so, no big deal. It doesn't take away from the shelf at all. It's sturdy and looks terrific. Can hardly tell that its from Target!

Great looking and easy. December 4, 2008 Reviewer:  Siena Foxx Real Name See all my reviews >

My daughter and I bought this for her room and it took a bit of time to get together. I have put many [...] pieces together that have similar instructions. It has one of the best locking screws I've seen on this type of construction. It is very sturdy and great looking. All of the pieces were in good shape and matched. The back is a thin piece of cardboard which has been covered with wood grain paper. It doesn't matter as it is covered up when the books are on the shelves. We plan on getting the five shelved ones also. I will be sure to check the pieces BEFORE I drive the 50 miles home. Take your time to get things squared up as you tighten everything down. GOOD LUCK.

In my opinion, [junk] November 29, 2008 Reviewer:  HBG See all my reviews >

Thought this 2 shelf bookcase would look nice, opened the box and more than half of the pieces were damaged, went through 4 additional boxes and 2 Target stores with employees who didn't understand why I wouldn't accept a damaged piece of furniture...only to find out that the semi-acceptable pieces I salvaged from those 5 boxes didn't align and the shelf could not be put together. Total waste of time, thanks Target!

Awesome! Great Price! November 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Texas Girl (San Antonio, TX, USA)  See all my reviews >

This is a great bookcase. Assembled it in about 1.5 hours. All pieces fit together great and no pieces were discolored, missing, or odd in any way. The bookcase looks great. I have about 120 books and some knickknacks on it right now and it looks like an expensive bookcase. IT DOES NOT LOOK CHEAP!!! I am thrilled with my new purchase. It is very sturdy and the legs give it a modern look. I purchased directly from the store to prevent damaged goods. Also, the first 2 shelves and the last shelf cannot be moved or adjusted. Only the 3rd and 4th shelves can be moved up or down.
