DISSAPPOINTED FOR SURE!

Reviewer:  FELT TAKEN BY THE COMPANY!! "UNIQE"  (FL)  See all my reviews

WELL I BOUGHT THIS PARTICULAR NETBOOK WHEN THIS MODEL FIRST CAME OUT SOME MONTHS BACK AND IT WAS MORE THAN I EXPECTED ACTUALLY ...FOR AN EXPENSIVE PRICE OO BUT THING IS I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET A WIRELESS CONNECTION WHICH WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF GETTING THE NETBOOK! TO CHECK EMAILS ON THE GO AND NOT HAVE TO LUG AROUND MY FULL SIZE LAPTOP... I CAN ONLY CONNECT DIRECTLY TO MY ROUTER ALSO I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD A COUPLE OF LINUX UPDATES AND IT TOOK ALL MY MEMORY AND THE SCREEN STARTED FLICKERING AND CRASHED! I HAD TO CALL TECH SUPPORT AND REBOOT MY NETBOOK TO FACTORY SETTINGS LOSIN ALL DATA THAT WAS SAVED WHICH WASNT MUCH CAUSE AS I SAID BEFORE IT IS MORE FOR JUST SURFING THE NET. BUT SOMEONE ELSE COULD HAVE LOSS MORE... SO THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING THIS EVEN TO JUST SURF THE NET! BECAUSE IF YOU RESEARCH THIS MODEL THRU GOOGLE THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERINCING THE SAME THING! I WISH I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT IT WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT THEN REVIEWS OR RESEARCH COULD HAVE HELPED ME! SO GOOD LUCK...

Seriously - know what you're buying before you flip out. The whole point of this netbook is portability and mostly net browsing - it's not a replacement for a desktop/laptop. I don't own one myself - I want to. I'll come back if I get one and review it for real!

Nice little machine

Reviewer:  RisaE  (Middle Tennessee)  See all my reviews

I bought this mainly to write papers. I'm a grad student and have a really hard time concentrating for too long when chained to my desktop so of course I've wanted a laptop to give me some freedom. I was skeptical but got it because the price was right and I'm glad I did. I can do my work just about anywhere, scoot it onto a thumb drive, move it to my desktop (a Mac by the way), make any necessary changes and then send it on its way! It's Great! I was worried about the small keyboard size since by no means do I have dainty fingers... no problem at all typing. Haven't done much internet on it yet, but its a keeper anyway.

Great for Kids and light computer work

Reviewer:  Mom of 3 "V-"  (PA)  See all my reviews

We got this for our kids this Christmas, and to my amazement it's quite good. They get on quick and can look things up instantly. We hooked up printers and they were good to go. REMEMBER!! You cannot put discs in, but there are ways around this. It's great in that they are learning the keyboard. It comes with great learning games. It has small screen, but for now I think it's fine. We used it on vaca for e-mail and internet. Picks up wireless pretty quick. Has skype - good camera. Overall it's great for kids (again watch the internet) and light work for adults. Considerably good for the price..

Looking to buy this product

Reviewer:  Morgs  (Buffalo, NY)  See all my reviews

I work for a place where I have to type many case notes and the only thing I would like to find a small laptop for is just that. I would only be using Microsoft word on it. I don't need to use the internet or any other applications. Would this computer be useful for that, or should I keep looking?!

PLEASE READ - Clearing up "Junk Reviews"

Reviewer:  Experienced EEE Pc User  (USA)  See all my reviews

The Eee Pc was designed as a NETBOOK, to browse the internet, chat, and run the games built in. THIS IS NOT A LAPTOP/DESKTOP REPLACEMENT. The Eee Pc was NOT made for gaming and watching movies and pictures, so of course those features wont work as well. It was also not designed to add programs to. People who are dissapointed with this product did not do their homework first.

As for me, the only complaints i have is there is no built in hard drive, which for me is a must, and since it is Linux and does not come with a webcam, it is very difficult to find a "plug and play" cam thats compatible with Linux.

I upgraded to the 1000H and love it, but this is a good netbook, especially for the price!

PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU BUY AND COMPLAIN - THIS COMPUTER DOES EVERYTHING IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO NOTHING MORE. DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST!!!!!

Cannot get wireless to work!

Reviewer:  Wendy Henderson  (NC)  See all my reviews

Real Name

My daughter got this laptop for Christmas and it has been great except for connecting to the wireless internet. I cannot get it to work. It keeps saying operation failed. I called customer service, they took my name and number and I never heard from them again. Fast busy now. Sent a message online. Nothing. HELP!
