After reading the only other review I had to add one of my own so people don't look over this great tablet.
I have over time owned three seperate Aiptek tablets, only purchasing new ones when I wanted a larger tablet. I started with the now retired 6000u, which is an absolutely adorable, blue, 6"x4", then got the 8000u then finally the 12000u which Target doesn't offer.
Never once have I had a problem. I still have the other two tablets, both of which work perfect to this day (even though one is six years old now and got a damn lot of use.)
It's important to remember that every product is going to have a bad batch and you also have to pay close attention to your software as well. The bundled drivers that come with the tablets often aren't the most recently updated ones and you have to make sure you download the correct one from the Aiptek website.
I'm sad to hear an Aiptek user had such difficulties with their product, but I will be brand loyal for life, as Aiptek tablets are products comparable to so-called industry standard tablets. Aiptek isn't the only brand I've owned, but it's the only brand I will buy. Other tablets with the same performance are overpriced.

After purchasing my Aiptek pen, I noticed it would lose it's pressure sensitivity, and the dpi quoted on the package was not accurate at all. After calling Aiptek customer service I sent it back for repairs. 3 weeks later, after many phone calls to track it down, it was finally sent back (I actually only live 30 miles away). It still doesn't work properly and dealing with Aiptek customer service was a nightmare. In the end, Aiptek would not solve the problem, I purchased a Wacom tablet (with outstanding results) and now use my Aiptek tablet for a very large drink coaster. Avoid this time/money waster at all cost.
