Although I had my reservations about this speaker I was willing to give it a shot because of the Altec brand. I was very pleased! This little guy sounds great for a speaker designed as it is. Not a lot of bass but enough for good sound. I used this on the beach and could hear it over the crashing waves. I liked it so much I purchased another and gave it as a gift for a fellow iPod user!

If you want a dependable portable speaker, then this is a solid bet. I picked this up to replace a speaker from Creative Labs and have been quite pleased. A pretty full sound and runs on 3 AAA batteries. Works very well with both voice recordings (podcasts, audiobooks) and music. After my experience, I purchased one for my sister and she carries it all around the house with her. We both are quite pleased.

I set this on the front of the golf cart plugged into my iphone. It's awesome! Highly recommended and you can't beat the price!
