I PURCHASED 2 OF THESE UMBRELLAS IN JAN. 2006 WAITING FOR SUMMER TO USE THEM. WE PUT UP ONE UNBRELLA FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY. IT OPENED UP OK, BUT WOULD NOT CLOSE AGAIN--ALSO PARTS JUST FELL OFF THE TILT MECHANISM. SEEMS LIKE THESE ARE PIECES OF JUNK AND WE ARE STUCK WITH THEM! WE ARE AFRAID TO EVEN SET UP THE SECOND ONE.

I was happy with this umbrella when I got it 4 months ago. It is summer now, so I always leave the umbrella open. A few days ago the tilt mechanism broke and I have no idea why. The metal piece actually split, so there's no way to fix this. I pretty much have to get a new umbrella, because without the metal piece, the umbrella can't hold up by itself. For $58, I would've thought that the umbrella would've lasted me atleast through the summer!

Lasted two weeks and then returned. Crank is a plastic piece of junk and broke the third time I used it.
