Great quality, horrible shipping March 3, 2008 Reviewer:  Target Fan 48059 "Jorja JB" (Michigan)  See all my reviews >

We we're very, very pleased with the quality of the table itself. We have now ordered 3 of them, and all 3 seemed to have sturdy, quality workmenship. However, the packaging is so substandard that all 3 came with a broken part. The table top is left with so much room around the edges and so little styrofoam, that it's amazing how little was broken each time. Unfortunately, something was always broken, and we felt that for the price, we shouldn't have to try & fix it ourselves. Beautiful product - beware of the shipping.

Great table arrived broken April 30, 2008 Reviewer:  heathrw (florida)  See all my reviews >

Great table, but arrived in a beat up box and broken. The parts that allow it to slide open for the leaf are only plastic. I ordered a replacement that never showed.

attractive table, not the best quality November 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Renée Reader (Seattle, WA)  See all my reviews >

I love the look of this table, practically identical to the one sold at a store that's name sounds like Pottery Farm.
Anyway, took forever to get it, over 2 months, hard living without a table for that long but I was really looking forward to it. The problem is that the quality is not the best, the black paint chips off very easily.

When my table finally arrived, it came with a chip in the middle edge where the extension will go, and because I had waited SO long for it, I thought I could just touch it up with extra black paint, but you can peel it back with your fingernail in a layer, And you can see the seams where the boards are pushed together. I really think if I kept it
it would crack and fall apart at one of the seams and would have to be glued back together and wouldn't hold, and by that time returning it would not be an option.
So even though it looks like the one from the more expensive store, the quality is just not there. (also the hardware for the leaf extension is plastic, not metal)

I suppose it would be fine if you only plan on it having "light" use and don't mind the chipping, and you don't have it near a window that makes it more obvious, but with the black color it really does show up. (kinda like that 80's song about black cars looking better in the shade)

I would give it a 2.5 or a 3, but even at the price it is, I think it is still too much for the substandard quality.

Fair Quality..will not hold up over time January 22, 2009 Reviewer:  A. Offner "Long live NO" Real Name (New Orleans, La)  See all my reviews >

I can't believe that this table is getting these fabulous reviews! The only thing that I can say is that they are all recent. I have had this table for two years. The style is..yes..identical to that of the [..] pedestal table! The table is sturdy...but small. It CANNOT fit six people under any circumstance as advertised. With the extension it is a comfortable four person table. OKAY...BIG COMPLAINT...the wood is (obviously) cheap and poorly painted. It chips easily, and holds markings from heat and water (and is a dining room table)! We have used placemat after placemat, and the surface of the table looks terrible with NO shine left! I have an 18mo son, and it will continue to be abused..and is good for this. But as for maintaining a clean look, the table has worn terribly since the first month that I had it! Sorry!

Love this table! April 27, 2009 Reviewer:  NYCdweller (NYC, New York)  See all my reviews >

Just put my table together and I'm very impressed with the quality and ease of assembly. The table was pretty heavy, so you do need two people to help assemble it because someone needs to help you lift the top onto the pedestal but it only took us 20 minutes to put together. The quality of this table was great for the price - especially given that it's real wood, not the pressed wood fibers that other furniture stores sell. My one complaint is that the leaf isn't very easy to store - we haven't figured out how to store it yet and it doesn't seem to store in the table easily. Anyways, we're very happy with the product - it is very sturdy and has a nice black finish.

Great price! August 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Steph S (Columbia SC)  See all my reviews >

I also was worried about the shipping since other reveiws stated how bad it was however mine arrived in good condition. My husband put it together and it looks great. The extension part he had to correct a problem with but it was minor. I got the American Simplicity Oslo Side Chairs in black to go with my table and they match great. I also had to wait on my table for under two months but I'm glad I did.

great for the price July 23, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Willett Real Name See all my reviews >

I read the other reviews describing how their tables arrived broken, but had still decided to take a chance because I wanted an extension table. It arrived just fine -nothing in the package was broken or damaged. It is a great set and I am very pleased with my purchase. It is much cheaper than the more expensive version at another store, yet looks just as good.

Absolutely Perfect Table August 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Madame Bargain de Tarjay See all my reviews >

Gorgeous, Chic, Practical, Solid, Quality Furniture... can't say enough about how wonderful this piece is. Have been looking well over 3 years for THE table that was elegant but not expensive; this one is also a reasonable size for a medium room, expandable when I need to seat 6 instead of 2 or 4, and stylish enough to blend very well with an eclectic mix of both classical and modern decor. Believe me when I say this is the find of the year, if you're in the market for a dining table! (I did read the other comments and can sympathize about bad shipping experiences, but have to say our table got here unharmed, and was so easy to assemble that we had it up in 20 minutes). If they had more than 5 stars for quality, style and versatility, I would give them to this table!

Perfect!! December 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Brooksy "Angela" (Oklahoma City, OK)  See all my reviews >

I bought this table for my new home. I also ordered the Andres chairs to go with it. My 10 year old son and I assembled this in the matter of 20 minutes. I love the way it looks, its solid, sturdy and very attractive. I get many great comments on my table by friends and family. It was packed very well, had NOTHING wrong with it when it arrived.

Nice looking table October 24, 2008 Reviewer:  Nifty Thrifty (Connecticut, USA)  See all my reviews >

This is a nice looking table. We didn't have any issues with the shipping, except keep in mind that it is shipped in two boxes, and we received ours at two different times, so at first we thought we were missing a piece (the pedestal), but it arrived later that day. [..] fault, not Target. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the seams are pretty noticeable (normal and extended). But, not a huge deal. Our table also came with some scratches/rub marks on the tabletop, but I guess it adds to the "distressed" look. Someone said their table didn't have a sheen to it, but ours does. I was worried at first that it wouldn't match our chairs (similar to the ones sold on this site, but purchased elsewhere) but they do match great. Don't bother with the matching buffet though...it was horrible quality. Enjoy the table though.
