We bought 6 of these to go with the American Simplicity Warm Walnut extension table and they match perfectly. I'm not sure that they appear darker in person than they do in the pic here - but that could be a color issue with individual monitors. They came well packaged with no damage.

There's a total of 7 pieces for each chair: the entire chair back with legs, the 2 front legs, the seat and the 3 cross braces. They were fairly simple to put together but a little time consuming. I concur with some of the other reviews here that the screw holes for the bottom brace were too big (but not stripped) for the screws provided, and hand tighten everything first, then go back and re-tighten everything.

One person can easily put these together.

You get some extra hardware and a piece-of-junk allen wrench for assembly, so we used our own tools. A ratchet screwdriver fits the bill if you have one. Also, the bottom braces are marked R and L, but the right and left referred to are if you are actually sitting in the chair, not laying on the floor with the chair on it's side looking at the underneath of the seat. The braces are somewhat tapered on the ends so it's hard to get them mixed up, but just be aware of that when putting the braces on.

It's 17-1/4" from the bottom of the chair to the top of the front of the seat, so if you have short legs, (I'm 5'2" and shrinking) you shouldn't have any problem with your feet not touching the floor. The seat is 16" deep front to back, and 18" across at the widest point which is right at the front of the seat.

The chair is very comfortable even with just the bare wood seat and no chair pad.

These are definitely worth the price and we got 20@ off and free shipping - not too bad a deal!

These chairs are much nicer than I expected. I purchased them for my dinette table. It took me some time to put them together, however I appreciated the fact that there were many steps towards making them sturdy. I gave only 4 stars because one leg on each chair doesn't set exactly flush on the floor. However, I have purchased furniture from the furniture store with the same problem. NO regrets!

We bought two sets of these chairs and they are beautiful! They seem pretty sturdy as well. My husband said the assembly instructions are not logical, but it was easy to figure out a better way to assemble them. I'm so pleased at the great deal we got (free shipping and 15% off) and how lovely the chairs look.

I am very pleased with the American Simplicity Oslo Chairs, they are heavy and sturdy, were easy to assemble and very affordable. The fact that they were 15% off and I didn't have to pay for shipping made the purchase decision easy to make. They are a beautiful addition to the American Simplicity dining table I purchased also. I'm very happy with my purchases from Target. I plan to purchase the AS Buffet as well.

I just got my chairs and am so pleased with them! The color is beautiful and looks great with the simple 1950s cherry gateleg table I have in my dining room. Clean lines belie the overall heft of these chairs. They're a nice combination of classic schoolhouse/Arts and Crafts style.

Putting them together is relatively simple, if a bit time-consuming. However, I don't mind putting in the effort for a deal like this. Highly recommended!

I am very happy with these chairs so far (we've just had them for almost a month now). After almost a year of indecision (we have never ordered furniture from Target before), I am very pleased with my final decision. The chairs match the dining table/hutch handed down from my in-laws and are extremely comfortable. They are very sturdy and of much better quality than expected and a great bargain (they were on sale, with free shipping).

My husband showed our 13-year-old son how to put together one chair, and then he did the other 5 on his own with no problems (he used our tools).

The only issue was that one chair's leg had an extra set of holes drilled in the side. This was resolved by calling customer service and them sending a replacement pair of chairs (the individual part could not be replaced). After taking the part we needed, I called them back and they sent UPS to pick up the leftover chair pieces. This took a little extra time, but we didn't miss the one chair in that week's time.

Chairs arrived quickly and with no damage. Took some time to put together, but that really makes you appreciate how sturdy they are! Impressed with the quality for the price - with free shipping and an extra 15% off you can't go wrong! Color is a bit darker than it looks online, but still extremely pleased. Way to go Target!

I love my new chairs. They are very comfortable. They were easy to put together and they are very sturdy. They were well packed so no damage occurred during shipping. Some minor things...the color is a little darker than the picture appears, the screws for the middle brace do not fit, and there are a some extra drill holes on two of my six chairs brace pieces. None of these minor things take away from the fact that they look terrific.

Inexspensive, but yet very sturdy and good looking. The color is great. Assembly was fairly easy.The only complaint that I had was that the screw holes to the bars on the front bottom right were all stripped.Helpful hint, hand tighten everything and than fully tightening at the end made it easier for assembly.
Overall, I am very pleased.
