good rice cooker! January 16, 2007 Reviewer:  klk0383 "Krystan" (Cincinnati, OH)  See all my reviews >

I love my new rice cooker. It makes things so much better! All you do is put in rice and water, close the lid, and push a button. After a half-hour, the rice is perfect. I was really impressed by it. It comes with some different accessories, and they are all really nice. The only down-side to it is that the bowl inside that holds the rice is not dishwasher safe. But its a breeze to clean up, so its not too bad.

Does brown rice perfectly! December 3, 2008 Reviewer:  K. Robertson Real Name (southern Virginia)  See all my reviews >

I was extremely impressed with this rice cooker, after reviewing dozens and then picking this one. First, it is a very attractive unit, and seems very well built, with a tight-fitting lockdown lid. The inner pot where the rice and water are placed is very easy to clean, and it is non-stick, which initially concerned me, but then I read that the rice doesn't cook anywhere near 450 degrees, which is when non-stick coatings begin to be a problem.

I did the intial cleaning recommended of the unit and accessories, and then followed the chart exactly to make brown rice. One note is that you must use the little plastic cup included instead of a standard measuring cup for the rice and water. Also, the inner pot has measurement lines, but I used the cup to measure -- this was a little confusing in the instructions, but I must have done it the right way according to my results!

I was expecting that there might be some odor when I 1st used the unit, but the only smell was of the rice cooking. Steam comes out of the valve in the top of the unit, but there was no sputtering or undue mess at all. I simply pressed "cook" and after about 30 to 35 minues, the unit beeped and then went into "warm" mode. I left it about 15 minutes and the result was perfectly done brown rice (slightly chewy). Clean up was very quick.

I am very impressed with this product and would recommend to anyone who wants a basic rice cooker that's not fancy, but that gets the job done!

Great for brown rice April 4, 2007 Reviewer:  2007 Reviewer "2007 Reviewer" (Dewitt, NY United States)  See all my reviews >

The only reason why I did not give this rice cooker a 5 is because I am latina and I love the "con-con" when I cook the rice on the stove; this rice cooker does not make it the way i am used to.. HOWEVER.. this rice cooker beats my brown rice cooking skills to the punch! It is the best brown rice I have ever cooked. My family eats it no complains..compared to when I used to cook it on the stove..

Fantastic Rice Cooker April 15, 2008 Reviewer:  jackknive (Ohio, USA)  See all my reviews >

This product works great. I cook a lot of rice and have never had a problem. The one thing you have to do is rinse the rice and repeat that until the water stops being cloudy. If you don't it will be sticky, hard or burn. It's not just this rice maker, it's all rice. The woman who rated this bad clearly didn't know that. It takes about 40 mins to cook, and I always make 3 cups rice with 3 1/2 half cups of water. Comes out fantastic!! Pour it in, press start, and a little while later, yum!

Planning to return this cooker March 20, 2007 Reviewer:  Mokpochica (Ann Arbor, MI)  See all my reviews >

I don't know if we purchased a faulty rice cooker or if this model just is not very good, but the rice we cook in it is only good to eat right after cooking. If we leave the rice on the warming function, water collects around the circumference and makes the outer rice soggy. Furthermore, the rice in the center becomes dry very quickly. Also, the rice cooker is constantly making weird clicking sounds.

We had an older and less fancy Aroma model for 3 years that served us well and nothing like this ever happened with it.

Great rice cooker for a terrific price October 13, 2008 Reviewer:  Living it up (Peach State)  See all my reviews >

Bought this on sale and am really impressed with the quality of this rice maker. It is a decent looking machine and does it's job beautifully. I can't imagine a better machine at this price! It worked exactly as advertised. The jasmine rice came out perfect. Easy to use, easy to clean. No messy steam sputtering anywhere and no spillovers. Love the little condensation cup on the machine that keeps moisture from becoming a problem. The exterior really does stay cool and I was able to carry it by the handle to take to a pot luck. It's a keeper!

Far better than I ever expected from any rice cooker! July 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Dee H See all my reviews >

I've been looking into rice cookers for a long time, but have always experienced sticky rice when eating at friends' houses who used rice cookers. Thanks to the great reviews for this item on target.com, I decided to purchase this one. I was looking for a good-quality item at a good price, and was a little apprehensive because this one is not a high-priced item. Anyway, I brought it home and tried it. I tried the extra long-grain white rice and it came out perfectly. The texture was good with no stickiness at all (I followed directions to rince rice first). It was nice and flaky and even my husband, who hates rice, loved it. The only thing I wasn't so sure about was how long it would take. I wanted to steam veggies during the last 10 minutes and the book doesn't give you any approximate times for the rice. It ended up taking only 35 minutes to cook and I put the veggies in only 5 minutes before the rice was done. Needless to say, our veggies were crunchy. More practice will get it right. This is a wonderful product and I recommend it to anyone who wants an easy dinner with easy cleanup.

Love it! April 17, 2008 Reviewer:  TargetGrrl (Los Angeles, CA)  See all my reviews >

I love this rice cooker, it works wonders and the delay timer is a must for busy families. I also cook a lot of brown rice and it works just fine though it does take over an hour to cook the brown rice, 20 minutes or so for white. I've made rice for parties and toted it since its completely cool to touch and has a nice handle. Buy this one!

Follow the directions, it works great February 13, 2009 Reviewer:  John W "John" (Detroit, MI)  See all my reviews >

Number 1 key to success is read the manual. The little plastic cup they include is critical b/c this is considered "1 cup", not a US measuring cup.

I've cooked short grain (sushi) rice in here a few times as well as more common Minute rice, white and brown. All have been successful.

If you don't like reading the manual here's what I do: Use the little plastic cup, measure off 3 plastic cups and put in the rice cooker. Add water until the water reaches the "3 cup" line inside the rice cooker. Let the rice stand in the water at least 10 minutes. Press the cook button. After the thing beeps 30-45 min later it goes into a warming mode. Do not open the lid. Leave it in warming mode at least 10 more minutes. Now open the lid and you have perfect rice. Done!

By the way, if you are burning your rice on the bottom it means you didn't put in enough water. Add more water next time ya big dummy. LOL.

Perfect Every Time! January 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Thrilled! (St. Paul, MN)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this rice cook a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! The rice is perfect every time and I even put chicken on the tray with or with out the rice.
The chicken is amazing! It is so tender and moist! I don't even need to season it. It literally falls apart! It is great to make shredded chicken for tacos. I have not had any problems with the rice sticking to the bottom the the pan, but I have only tried brown rice. I don't know about white rice. The best part is I can put my chicken and rice in the cooker in the morning and when I come home my dinner is ready! It actually keeps the food nice and hot after it is done cooking and until you are ready to eat.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
