Before my son was born, my husband and I bought the Baby Bjorn Air Carrier (without the back support). I started using it when my son was over a month old. The air carrier was wonderful, it was very easy to put on, very comfortable, and stylish. Thinking ahead, I decided I wanted to buy this Baby Bjorn Active Carrier because I wanted to support my back more with a heavier child. My son weighs about 15lb and the back support is definitely worth it! I gave this product 4 stars because there are two minor problems. (1) there are double (4; 2 for the back support & 2 for the carrier it self) the adjustable straps than the Baby Bjorn Original/Air Carrier. It takes longer to adjust straps to a larger size for my husband to use it after I used it, since I am smaller than him. (2) when I wear the Baby Bjorn the 4 long straps sick out to the sides since I have a small waist. I have to tuck them under my son's back/belly so they won't show. This problem isn't as bad for my husband, since he is bigger than I am. Other than the MINOR 'strap problems' this is a wonderful product! :)

My son loves this carrier so much. Whenever he gets cranky and I have house work to do, i just put him in it, bounce him lightly, and he is out like a light! It is easy to put him in and take him out as well. I started him in it when he was 4 weeks old with no problem. I am only 5'3" and I am very petite everywhere, but i feel completely comfortable wearing him in it. My husband also wears it and he is 6'2". It is so easy to adjust. I HIGHLY reccommend buying this carrier.

I was given this as a gift from my cousin and it was the only carrier i really trusted to put my daughter in. It gives loads of back support and very durable (i used it everyday). I would reccomend any mother or grandparent to get this ,also very easy to go shopping in this and less hassel then bringing out the stroller everytime.

I loved the original babyBjorn when my daughter was a newborn. I would use it to go grocery shopping and take the dog for walks. I liked that it held her close to my chest and kept the nosy, germ filled hands of strangers at bay. Now that she is over 15lbs, putting her in the orginial carrier strains my back, so we have retired it until our next child and bought the Active carrier. It really makes a difference in your back. I really like using the babyBjorn carriers, it makes me feel like my baby is securly fastened to my body. I also had a sling carrier, and I always felt like she could easily fall out of it. If your looking for a carrier you could use daily, the Active carrier is it!

My husband and I have one for him and one for me. He uses the BJorn, because it fits him. He's a big guy 260 lbs. 6'. I use the infantio front to back. My husband can't fit in the infantio, so if you are a bigger person go with the Bjorn. If you aren't big and want to save money go with the infantio.

Pros- easy to use, well made, sleek nice looking design. Cons - uncomfortable (straps unpadded and dig into shoulders), babies outgrow quickly as their weight becomes too heavy to comfortably carry (my 11 pound 2 month old is already too uncomfortable to carry for more than 30 min), according to some pediatricians bad for baby's spinal development as all their weight sits on the crotch area putting lots of strain on baby's pelvis. This carrier didn't work for me at all. Luckily, after much research and many carriers tested, I found a much better design that works for us. I recommend trying the Ergobaby carrier as an alternative. As a frantic mother with a baby who needs to be constantly held and me needing my hands free, I was lucky to stumble upon the Ergobaby carrier that I bought and now love!!! They even offer a money back guarantee. Can't say the same for Bjorn. I'm now stuck with this worthless carrrier.

I loved the idea of this carrrier, but when I tried it on I found that in order to tighten the adjustable straps tight enough to fit my chest/body that the large buckles for the lower straps cover up the leg openings where my daughters legs would come out, so I was not able to use it. It should carry a warning that it may not fit thin-framed people very well...OR Bjorn should consider making this in sizes (Small & Large) so that if you have a very thin frame and small upper chest like me, that you can still use this carrier. I love the style and idea of the lower lumbar support, but it just did not work out for me and I ended up purchasing the Jeep brand carrier and it is working out great!

This carrier is amazing. DD has been in it every day from about 3 weeks on. She hated it the first couple weeks, but now it will calm her even when she has bad gas. I can get so much stuff done around the house and it is much easier than carrying the bucket around or pushing a big stroller when you are out running errands. I have learned to get her in and out without waking her. The lower back support of the Active model is worth the extra money over the original. I can't recommend it highly enough!

This carrier is fantastic! Both my husband and I have used it since our daughter was about 4 weeks old. She is now 6 months old, and we're still using it every day. We use it at home--when the baby is fussy or can't sleep--and when we're out and about. We hate pushing a huge stroller around, so this is perfect for us. We chose this model over the standard one because of the extra back support it provides. It really helps. Plus, the baby fits securely facing forward or backward. It's holding up well to repeated washings, and I'm looking forward to using it until my baby gets too big for it.
