Wonderful, if flawed

This is the only iced tea maker I've tried that doesn't leak all over the place. It's very well designed and works great. But it only took 3 or 4 months of daily use for the pitcher to get a crack at the handle. I just bought a new glass pitcher (I like glass because it doesn't stain as bad as the plastic ones and it goes in the dishwasher) and it works fine. So a flaw in the pitcher leads to the discovery of another good thing about this machine, it can use most any pitcher you like.

Thin glass pitcher, but makes great tea instantly

I got this ice tea maker as a wedding gift. It was easy to use and made hot tea within minutes. In order to make the ice tea, make sure you add ice or place in the fridge for a bit. But be careful when you place the pitcher underneath! Make sure it faces the same as the photo otherwise you risk spilling hot tea all over. All the pieces are only hand-washable. The sugar part to make sweet tea gets really sticky after each use.

Why are so many consumer products built so cheaply?
I thought I purchased a good quality ice tea maker only to have the glass pitcher crack after the fourth tea making activity. I am very disappointed with the quality of this product.

I love how it looks like a coffee maker and the carafe is beautiful BUT none of it is dishwasher safe. I make ice tea every day in the summer-who has time to hand wash all 3 baskets and the carafe? Unfortunately, I will be returning this and looking for one that is dishwasher safe. Wish they would have put that information on the box and then I wouldn't have to waste my time going back to the store.

I bought this today and I love it! It does not leak and the design is nice looking. Although the pitcher does feel fragile I did not have any problems with the Ice breaking the pitcher. I bought it for 39.99 a little steap but worth the money. Down fall is that none of it can go in the dishwasher. Everything has to be rinsed by hand and artifical surgar cannot be used to sweeten the tea during brew time. I cannot wait to try some of the Ice tea ideas that came with the DIRECTIONS! It will be great to have this summer.

I bought this iced tea maker for my husband. I found the design to be unique, attractive, contemporary and I liked the fact that it had a sugar compartment to sweeten the tea. The first time my hubby tried to use it he filled the pitcher with ice cubes from the dispenser of our fridge and the pitcher cracked! I am very disappointed with the poor quality and frankly I will be returning it. We will be brewing tea the old fashioned way. I've had it with iced tea makers!

As with all teamkers, this one or MR coffee you have to clean it with vinegar every few months. Or the plastic parts do burn up. This pitcher is heaven. I have used it over and over, washed it in the dishwasher, only to use it some more. This makes the best tea ever. When it starts to get sort of hot on the outside and is not emptying all the water you put it , that is when it is time to clean with vinegar.
Mr Coffee pitchers crack from the heat of the tea being brewed because they are plastic. This one just sits there sweats beautifully and makes you the best tea ever. I bought mine in the store. And I have several products from target. I find their customer service people awesome. Just call and you have some very nice people trying to solve your deliema for you.

This is the last time I fall for good reviews online. This is a piece of [...]!
The special "sweet tea" chamber is a total waste, messy, sticky and useless.
The glass pitcher is thin and obviously too fragile to be dropping big ice cubes into.
The thing leaks tea all over well after it's done.

I have used a lot of different I iced tea makers in the past, saw this one and had to give it a try. The brew strength selecter works very well. The sweetner tray is a great idea, but does leave a little sugar on the side, not a big deal. I think the glass pitcher is a great feature on this maker, who doesn't love iced tea in a glass pitcher. the only thing to remember is that it is GLASS, which means it will break if you drop it or force ice into it, just like anything made of glass would do. In all, this is an excellent machine and I would recommend it to everyone.

I bought this machine with the glass pitcher because I was sick of the stains that build up on the plastic pitchers that come with the other machines. They are so unappetizing that I literally quit using them after a while. I love the feel of this pitcher and even though it is thin I have not had any trouble with it cracking when I put ice in it. I add honey or Agave nectar to the sweetener tray and it all melts right in with the tea. Yum! Also, one of my co-workers bought the same machine through a mail order catalog and paid more plus shipping and handling!
