ladybug erased is horrible!

I would like to know who designed this for a child. My son received this when he was 2 and there is no way he would be able to pull the ladybug "eraser" himself. It takes two hands even for me to erase the pictures. Very bad design. Also, the magnetic animal faces constantly fall out and get lost. Finally, after a year of use, ours has permanent black marks on the screen that will not erase at all. I will definitely be buying another brand next time we replace this toy.

I purchased one of these for my 16 month old on November 16, 2008. As soon as you right something the image begins to fade. My daughter's playmate has had one (same brand) for at least 6 months and it can hold a clear image until it is cleared. There must be a bad batch of these or something. I'm returning it when I get a chance. In the meantime, I had purchased a larger one (Doodle Pro) a few months back. We can use that at home but I really wanted to get her this with the little pillow. I might just get another Doodle Pro because it is impossible to "test" the Parents Young at Art at the store and I don't want to keep hoping for the best. :-(

I bought this toy for my daughter a couple of months ago (she's about 20 months old)-it still is one of her favorite toys! I read the other reviewers mention of it not working very well. I'm not sure if maybe the particular toys she bought were defective because my daughters works just as advertised. The only thing I would complain about it that the animals at the top can get lodged in so well that it can be hard for little hands to pull them out of their slots. Overall, a well designed toy!

This toy is a waste of money. Picture disappears in a second. No fun at all. I just bought it and had to throw it out.

I bought this because I loved the idea of the pillow. My son had a larger Doodle Pro with no pillow, and it was difficult to keep it on his lap. So, when I went to buy one for my daughter, I noticed that this one did. I loved that idea. It stays on her lap so well, and she loves it. But, the picture fades SO quickly. It doesn't even mark dark enough. We tried using different magnets and nothing worked. It's like the stuff just wasn't magnetic enough to stay. Well, we were very sad to have to return it. It's frustrating that you can't test this in the store, because if I had found one that would hold it's magnet I definitely would have kept it. I found that my 22 month old could easily clear the picture. And the little magnets were easy for her to pull out. Sometimes so easy that when we traveled with it, they would just pop out. So I would have to remove them all and keep them in my bag until she wanted to use them. And overall good idea, but if you don't know if you are getting a good one or a defective one, it's not worth the trouble. Had to return ours, and I'm still looking for a different brand with a pillow bottom.

My 4 yr old and 18 month old love this toy. They both want to play with it at the same time. Now I just need another one so they don't fight over it. ;)

The overall idea of this toy was VERY appealing! I bought it for my son's 12 month birthday as a good take-a-long toy for car rides. But, I soon realized that it can't be good and fun if the image that is drawn instantly fades away from the board! Plus, the ladybug eraser on the side is indeed WAY TOO HARD to move for a child! Even now (my son is 17 months old) my son still can't erase with ease (or at all for that matter). If I had to do it again, I definitely would NOT purchase this toy.

I am not happy with this product. We purchased it for our 18mth first plane trip and while the idea is good the construction is NOT. I agree the lady bug was too hard for him to use. The screen faded within a few days of lite use and the drawings are gone within 1-2 seconds of writing (w/o using the lady bug eraser). Plus the handle is starting to come apart as well as the screen getting a cloudy color. Don't waste your money on this one. This was my first Parents brand purchase and maybe my last.

We purchased this for our 18 month old son and he loves it, however if we had it to do over again we would have just purchased a regular magna doodle. The lady bug that you push to erase the board is much too hard to push for his age.

The magnetic board on this toy is horrible. It dents very easily. You can barely see what you write. The lady bug is hard for my daughter to move up and down. The fisher price doodle pro is much better.
