Great little toaster! October 11, 2007 Reviewer:  Anne (Baltimore, MD)  See all my reviews >

My old toaster was the $7 version from [another retailer] It broke a leg 1 year and a half ago and I finally replaced it. But, I love this toaster! We've had it for several weeks already and it works great! It does take a little longer, maybe, to toast, but with our old one, I always had to push everything down twice anyways. (Having a bad toaster for so long really makes one appreciate having a good one!)

My father likes the best of all kitchen appliances and once I asked him for a recommendation for a toaster--he didn't have one. He'd had a cuisinart, a kitchenaid, a Delonghi, and a few others all in the space of 2 years--but he wasn't happy with any of them. I don't think there's a perfect toaster out there and I don't know if spending $80 on a toaster is even going to get you what you want. But, I know that for the price, this is a great little toaster and is worth the money.

didn't last long September 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Carole A. Williams Real Name (Bloomington, IN)  See all my reviews >

I bought this toaster because I needed a new one & black & decker is a name you can trust. The toaster didn't last long at all. Also when the toast pops up it doesn't come up enough to take it out.

Slowest toaster I have ever used! Good news...it is really hard to burn your toast!

Life cut short June 24, 2008 Reviewer:  Just Me See all my reviews >

This toaster was great while it lasted, but it only lasted for 2 months before it stopped working.

Bad design January 18, 2009 Reviewer:  Debbie - a mom See all my reviews >

The toaster is wide to hold bagels, but watch out toasting a pop tart. There is enough space on either side of the metal piece that holds the bread on the bottom for a pop tart to slide right by. It happens to us all the time, and we have to unplug it and pull it out piece by piece -- what a pain when we are trying to hurry in the mornings! Otherwise, the toaster is okay, though it is true that it does not come up high enough to easily grab the bread. I liked our 12.99 toaster that we had before more than this more expensive one.

Reliable, easy to clean September 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Karen M (Sandusky, OH, USA)  See all my reviews >

I have a husband who uses a toaster daily and usually creates a sticky, greasy, crumby mess of it. When our previous toaster quit working (apparently I broke it while I was trying to clean it), I wanted to find one that would be easier to clean. This is it. I no longer need to hold the toaster over a trash can to empty the crumbs via a drop-down door, because this one has a convenient slide-out tray. And the plastic exterior is much easier to clean than the not-so-stainless steel toasters I had in the past. My husband has used this toaster for several months now with no complaints about the quality of his toast, English muffins, etc.

Doesn't toast well, broke after a few months June 14, 2008 Reviewer:  Rachel S (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

This toaster doesn't toast well at all; after a period of time that you'd think would be sufficient to burn a bagel to a crisp, a bagel will come out only slightly toasted. I always had to toast something multiple times to get it golden brown.

More importantly, I wouldn't recommend this toaster because mine broke after about six months. The handle won't stay down, and I've resorted to using a small piece of cardboard to jam the handle down and keep the toaster toasting. (I'm going to look into the warranty.)

Short life September 19, 2009 Reviewer:  J. Flores Real Name (Alexandria, VA)  See all my reviews >

Ah, we expected more. We had it for less than a year. Problem was always that the cord's near the front (weird). It already only toasts 1/4 of the bread (1/2 of one side), and black at that regardless of the setting.

Don't recommend July 18, 2009 Reviewer:  disappointed toast lover "Morgan" (Minneapolis, MN)  See all my reviews >

Today I went to use this toaster that seemingly hasn't been toasting as well lately; and it didn't work. This toaster is only 2 years old. I had a $ toaster in college that worked better and lasted longer!

doesn't toast - no matter how long you leave it in - garbage, and that's where it's going.
