I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to due to the volume of complaints about this thing I'm reading... First, it WILL GET HOT - it's a toaster oven, which are not notorious for having very good insulation. I wish you luck finding a toaster oven in this price range that remains cool to the touch. Second - the fan is indeed loud, but by no means a nuisance. If you plan on running this thing 24 hours a day that's a legitimate complaint, however, you'd probably have some more pressing concerns at that point (the human body can only handle so many frozen chimichangas).

Bottom line - it's the only toaster oven I've ever purchased that performs as desired. When set to 400 degrees, it's actually a consistent temperature unlike any other unit I've owned. Plus the fact that it fits 12" pizzas is pretty freakin convenient for today's bachelor. I'm happy.

We bought this oven about 2-3 months ago and have used it at least every day. It does get hot on the top and side which are metal (per other reviews). We have 3 little ones and we just put it on the counter where they can't reach. I really like the oven because it cooks fast, evenly, and doesn't require heating up the whole house using a standard oven. We use it every morning for frozen waffles, toast, or frozen biscuits. I use it 2-3 times a week to bake cookies. I use it 2-3 times a week for frozen pizzas as well. I've used it for chicken tenders and french fries too. I really have no complaints. The food is cooked quickly and evenly.

I like the option of using bake, broil, or toast. I haven't noticed it being that loud like the other reviews say but then again we have a convection oven too and it's kind of loud when we run it. Convection in general uses a fan so it will cause some noise but it's not that bad. I did buy a different pan because the pan that comes with it seems a little flimsy and cheap.

I love this oven. It is great for cooking small meals as well as making toast. I love how easy it is to clean. I like it so much I am getting my mom one for Mother's Day.

This thing runs way to hot! The outside is hot enough to burn your hand. If you have little ones, don't even think about this product.

I purchased this oven today(10/27/2009). Upon inspection I found rust spots on the crumb tray, and the door of the oven would not fully close.
I will exchange tomorrow for same item in hopes I just got a lemon, as B&D products I have purchased in the past have all been good to great products.

After reading the reviews here I almost didn't buy this convection oven but luckily I decided to give it a try and love it. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about as far as fan noise. I've had experience with many convection ovens in the past and the fan on this one is amazingly quiet. I had to actually LOOK at the fan to see if it was spinning because I couldn't HEAR it. My main purpose for buying this oven was because I cook a frozen Digiorno pizza about once a week and didn't want to fire up my big oven to do it and waste all that electricity. I wasn't sure if it would fit because it's not one of those skinny store brand pizzas..but to my amazement it fits well!
This is also a really nice looking addition to the kitchen and matches well with all my other modern appliances. yes, this oven gets hot but I've never seen a concection oven that didn't get hot so that's no big deal either.
don't let any bad reviews change your mind..buy this oven with confidence!

I bought this a couple of days ago and used it twice. It toasts evenly, but it gets too hot outside and it is way too loud!! I will be returning it and getting something different.

Very disappointed. After 7 months the fan has stopped and it smells of hot electrical insulation.

It's a good thing that I din't listen to all the other posts because I don't know what everybody is talking about. The fan is so quite that I thought that it wasn't working. I had to put my hand on the side just to see if it was working and as far as the temp not being accurate I have a temp gun that can check for accuracy and it's spot on. I also chacked the timer again'st a digital timer and it's also correct. So I think it was a GREAT BUY for a medium of the road Convection oven !!!!
