This coffemaker is FANTASTIC! It was very easy to install and it gave us more counter space, as the old coffemaker occupied a ton of space. Most importantly, it brews great coffee. TWO THUMBS UP!

Coffee Maker Installation Tip

Here's a tip: Be sure to read the notes in the instructions that tell you to remove the top panel. It's not very obvious in the instructions, but makes installation much easier when installing the top panel and then sliding the coffee maker into it. Also, I had to cut down the long screws. The short screws were too short and the long ones too long. Once installed it looks great and makes great tasting coffee.

I had tried 3 of the previous model. 1st one the clock ran slow. 2nd one the clock ran slow AND the grounds tray wiggled out during the brewing making a complete mess. 3rd one the clock ran slow and I used it for a couple years until the thing died (resetting the clock when I wanted the timer feature). the new one keeps time and makes coffee. I don't like the new water vessel. Because it is more horizontal, it makes it harder to measure how much water I'm putting in. I also had problem with the screws being too long on one side. Also, I insited on using at least ONE of the original holes from the previous coffee maker and now the new one sits too far back and is hard to read the clock and the buttons. the botton line is the thing does work and unfortuantely, I wasn't expecting it to do so but I can live with a few minor problems for the extra counter space.

Alot of people gave bad reviews of the product, so I was worried that this wouldn't be the best option for me. I'm glad I didn't listen to these reviews! If installed correctly, (and my husband says it was pretty easy to install), it works wonderfully! Not only is it functional with saving space, it has a large 12 cup coffee pot and the water basin is so easy to fill up water. Just take it out and put it under the faucet. It also looks great in the kitchen - very elegant! I have never been so satisfied with a coffee maker - and we've had several! Oh and most importantly - the coffee tastes GREAT!

Don't like some features

We had an old B&D Spacemaker with a water tank that was easy to fill and carry to coffemaker. This one is not so easy to carry, even with the cover on. Also, if you fill it thru the hole, pulling it out, it sometimes spills out. Also, my husband thinks everything that can should go in the diswasher nightly, & the parts retain a lot of water when taken out of dishwasher. Otherwise, makes great coffee, keeps it warm, shuts off.

We bought this in a Target store on clearance about 2 weeks ago. After coming home with it, I read some reviews, and was a bit scared that I was going to hate this coffee maker.
But I don't. I actually like it.
So here's my take on some of the things several reviewers seem to mention often.
A few folks mention some difficulty with installation. I really don't get that complaint. If you follow the directions and mount the plate first, then slide in the unit, it's pretty easy. Didn't take me long at all.
A lot of people mention issues with the water reservoir. I tend to read owner's manuals when I buy things because some products tend to have various quirks that don't make sense until you read the manual. This is one of them. Everyone who complains about how the reservoir is difficult to fill, how it spills when carrying the reservoir from the sink to the coffee maker and how it's difficult to see the water level apparently missed this line from the manual: "Fill carafe with cold water to desired level and pour into reservoir; the lid of the reservoir may be removed to make pouring easier." You measure the water in the carafe, THEN pour it in. And if you do this, placing the reservoir on the counter in front of the coffee maker, you don't have to carry it across the kitchen. Just lift it up and slide it in. I've been making coffee for at least 2 weeks with this machine and haven't spilled a drop of water.
Another reoccurring complaint is about the "Sneak-a-Cup" feature lever. I do agree that the spring for this lever is pretty taut and puts more pressure on the carafe than I have seen in any of my previous coffee makers. And you do need to make sure the carafe is seated in the warming plate to make sure the carafe stays pressed against the lever. But I have had no issues with the lever staying closed and making the basket overflow.
I had no problems with installation, and my counters have been dry from day one with this coffee maker, so I'm not sure what's happening with other folks.
As for the day-to-day use of the machine...I like it quite a bit. It's easy to use, makes a good cup of coffee, and the carafe doesn't spill when you pour it (like our old Krups did). There are some features I sort of wish it had, but for what we paid, I really can't complain. I prefer cone filters, and this one is a basket. Oh well, maybe having a cone filter would have made it extend too far down under the cabinet. At times I wish the clock was back-lit, but it's not a deal-breaker. It would be nice if it had the feature that some coffee makers have where you can select a "bold" brewing setting. I had that on an old Philips machine I had, and I loved it. But again, not a deal-breaker. The only minor complaint I have about the machine is that I bought a permanent filter instead of paper filters, and the permanent filter sticks up just a bit past the top of the filter opening. It doesn't snag it or anything, but it's a snug fit for sure. I may try a different brand of permanent filter and see if it's a little shorter.
I would give it 5 stars for the money, but with the basket filter instead of a cone filter, I'll have to give it 4 stars.

Leaked hot water all over the counter and worked for about 3 months. Target cannot return it and manufacturer wants me to pay money to receive a new coffeemaker. I don't want a new one!! This is junk. I don't feel I should have to pay ANY money for a replacement of a defective product.

I bought one at first asheville location, the box appeared to be unopened. when I opened the box, there was no manual/install instructions or mounting hardware included.I did see 3 nuts at 3 of the four mounting holes on top.It also looked like someone had mounted or tried to mount it.I am taking it back tomorrow-1-29-2009.Maybe I will try the newer Target store....maybe.
