So glad I bought this! March 17, 2008 Reviewer:  laeta904 (Texas)  See all my reviews >

I have struggled to get good sleep throughout my entire pregnancy, but starting in my second trimester, my hips were giving me quite a bit of trouble after staying in one position for too long (i.e. sleeping). At the time (about 22-24wks or so), I was already sleeping with 4 pillows just to be semi-comfortable, but I still was not supported correctly and could sometimes barely get out of bed in the morning.

I had seen the Boppy Wedge on a website somewhere and thought about giving it a try, but did not want to pay shipping for a pillow, so I was very pleased when I saw the wedge in the store while registering one day. I picked it up immediately, and I'm so glad I did. That night, I added the wedge to my pillow army to support my belly, and I noticed an immediate difference.

1. I did not toss and turn nearly as much as I did without the wedge. I was able to sleep comfortably in the same position for several hours. I think what made the difference was that previously, I had been sleeping with my hips slightly twisted in order for my belly to be resting on the mattress. With the wedge, I am able to sleep with my hips vertically, therefore not causing any alignment problems.
2. When I got up in the morning, my pain was very much decreased compared to before. (Not totally gone, but some muscle/joint pain is just to be expected during pregnancy, right?)
3. Also, the muscles in my belly were not sore, which is really not something I had noticed having a problem with previously (probably b/c I was concentrated so much on my hip pain), but the improvement was definitely noticeable.

I had so much success, that a few days later, I decided to buy a second wedge to put behind my back. That way, if I roll onto my back, I am not flat (since flat-backed is not recommended for pregnancy), PLUS, I don't have to worry about moving the wedge when I flip sides, since there is one on both sides. (This also fixed the problem of forgetting to move the wedge with me when I flipped and waking up with sore belly muscles, which happened once a day or two after buying the first wedge, ouch!)

I highly recommend purchasing a Boppy wedge if you are having trouble with hip and/or belly muscle pain. It is a very reasonable price to pay to at least see if it might help you (and if it does not, I'm sure there is some other way you could use a wedge pillow somewhere in your house). Also, some reviewers commented that the quality might not be high enough to last through more than one pregnancy, but truly, the price to me is worth buying one or two of these for each pregnancy if it makes sleeping significantly more comfortable.

Best Maternity Product! October 31, 2008 Reviewer:  Bethany See all my reviews >

I love this pillow! I can't tell people enough how much it works. I bought it about 2/3 of the way into my second trimester and now that I'm in my third it's even better! I can't lay down comfortably without it!

Can't sleep without this! June 12, 2008 Reviewer:  Chicago 1st time Mom See all my reviews >

I got this early on in my pregnancy and didn't use it much - but around week 22 I started using it and now at 31 weeks I can't sleep without it. It is a bit firm at first, but if you start using it early it softens up as your belly grows.
I am bying one of these for all my pregnant friends!

Never slept without it! October 31, 2009 Reviewer:  Jessica Wickers "Jess" Real Name (PA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this when I was still in my first trimester so I would have it on hand when I needed it. I also used it as a back support for our trip across the country when I was 10 weeks and it was great for that too. I never slept without it. Even after my c-section it came in handy as I couldn't lay on my incision site.

Definitely worth it!

Very satisfied customer April 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Mommy To Be (Canandaigua, NY, USA)  See all my reviews >

This was a great purchase. Before I bought the pillow, I would toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable. This pillow gives a pregnant belly just the right support. I had a much better nights sleep the first night I used it. It is easy to maneuver when you roll over, and it alleviates back strain. I've been sleeping much better ever since I got it. I highly recommend this product.

A Great Preggers Support!!! January 17, 2009 Reviewer:  A Blessed Mom "Ce-Ce" (DeSoto, TX, USA)  See all my reviews >

This wedge is very comfortable and supportive for the pregnant belly. It is so easy to manuever during the night when rolling over. I started using it in the begining of my third trimester and it has retained its shape even after delivery. I highly recommend this pillow if your needing some support and to get a decent nights sleep.

Too Firm February 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Nash (Illinois)  See all my reviews >

In my opinion the pillow is a little too firm. It doesn't give at all to accomodate your belly. I haven't used it much at all.

best pillow, best bargin February 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Increased sleep happiness (Quad Cities, IL)  See all my reviews >

I used this for the last four months of my pregnancy and wouldn't sleep without it. We had purchased every imaginable pillow on the market in attempt to increase my comfort level during rest/sleep. We spent up to $50 on individual pillows and this wedge was the least expensive item we bought and the only one I ended up using. I wish I would have bought two, one for the front and back of me. I also had many problems with blood flow to my arms and hands and this wedge offered support to my belly and stayed out of the way of my arms, that was another big bonus for me.
