Swore I'd never buy those overpriced Bose speakers

Fantastic range from these little speakers. No need for a subwoofer, excellent high end. These speakers are not overpriced; there is nothing less expensive that will come close to the sound quality.

Speakers Great Bose service shabby.

I ordered these speakers online and when they came I could not get them to work. I called Bose and they tried to tell me that I disconnected my previous speakers and damaged the jack. Whatever. I called my computer service people and they told me to try the speaker jack on the front of the computer rather than the back. Blow me away, I didn't know there was one in the front.

The speakers worked wonderful once plugged into the front jack. The bass was a bit much but I clicked into the real audio manager and was able to regulate the equalizer. The difference in the sound of music on my computer now is astounding. I listen to Rhapsody all the time and WOW was my listening experience sent from ok to BLISS.

Just don't call Bose because they can't tell you anything you don't already know.

Rather disappointed actually

I ran out to the Target store and bought these based on the glowing reviews here. However I find them very sub-par whenever I crank up the volume louder than the half-way point on the knob. Either mine are defective or I should return them and spend more money on higher-priced speakers.

I listen to music constantly while at my computer, and I do a lot of graphics work while sitting here, so good sound is important.

Don't pass them up

I live in an apartment, and wanted external speakers for my new HDTV, but didn't want to break a lease with a high output home theater sysytem.
Although these speakers are tiny, (7") they deliver some nonsense audio!
Bose says it all.
you get amazing bass, midrange and treble depth, as well.
If you are in to sports, music or movies, they enhance all audio applications.
they come complete, and to access all the functions- volume, mute via remote, etc. -all you need do is plug the supplied "Y" cable into the headphone jack on your tv or cable box.

I'm on a tight budget and wanted speakers for my computer. They sound fantastic, and I can also use them with my funky TV! Great for my apartment. Bose quality is outstanding.

Awesome speakers

I wanted some good sounding speakers for my Macbook Pro laptop that I could take with me on the road. These speakers surprised me so much, they are that good sounding! Like all Bose products, they are clean sounding with clear highs and deep bass! I am using them as my office PC speakers, replacing the speakers that came with my PC that has a subwoofer. These speakers sound that much better than the speakers with subwoofer! You will not go wrong with them! Best $100 speakers out there!

Good pair of 2 speaker system but can be better.

Reviewer:  Penthousepauper  See all my reviews

Pros:

1. No subwoofer; less messy with wires and saves space.
2. Built quality is good, compared to light plastic ones.
3. Speaker can connect to 2 separate source.

Cons:

1. No power on and off switch.
2. The bass is too heavy, and cannot be controlled.

Conclusion:

I prefer bass to be soft and a little pushy, not heavy and resulting in resonance. There's room for improvement.

Great Sounding PC Speakers

Reviewer:  Danny Santiago "Media Lover"  (Sacramento, CA)  See all my reviews

I was weary at first about spending $100 for such small speakers with no sub-woofer, but I went ahead and purchased them. When I got home I realized that the sub-woofers were actually in both of the elegant, small speakers. The sound is as if I were actually at the show, or actually in the game. They don't sound artificially bassy like most PC speakers seem to, they really seem natural, like how the sound was meant to be heard. They are also built solid, I would say the speakers weigh about 2 or 3lbs each. The only thing I wish could be changed is I wish there was a knob for the bass, to turn it down on the speaker itself. I would readily purchase these again in a heart-beat, If you want great sound, don't let the compact size of these speakers fool you into thinking they have small sound.
