BOSE ARE THE BEST SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM, I EVER HEARD!THE PRICE MIGHT SEEM OUTRAGOUS FOR SOME PEOPLE BUT, THIS IS MONEY WELL SPENT! I BOUGHT MINES 2 WEEKS AGO AND THIS SAVES ME SO, MUCH SPACE! I USED TO HAVE A YAMAHA 7 SPEAKER SYSTEM AND IT JUST HAS TOO MUCH WIRES AND TOOK TOO MUCH SPACE AND WITH THIS SYSTEM SOUNDS LOUDER AND CLEARER THAN MY OLD SURROUND SYSTEM THAT HAD 7 SPEAKERS! GREAT BUY! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My wife bought this for her dad a few years back and it is already failing. For the money it should last forever... to tell you the truth, I am not impressed with it at all. You spend 1k (she spent 2k back then) and you expect it to last a long time and sound better than the competition.

I would stear clear of this one.

I am on my second system now, after having had to ship mine 3 times to be repaired. After the 3rd time they replaced it free of charge. Bose has a wonderful tech support which you will need if you purchase. I am not an isolated case-there are many web-sites dedicated to people with the same problem. It is very picky about dvds it will and won't play. Forget Netflix, and I have even had it reject brand new never before played discs. I am a huge fan of the Wave, but this system has been troublesome. Having said that, I have had the replacement for about a year problem free. Maybe they have worked the bugs out, just beware before buying and keep all receipts.
