i've had this machine for 4-5 years and it's been great. it was my first sewing machine and i've used it to sew chiffon to leather, but because my sewing skills have increased, it's time for me to purchase a new sewing machine. this is a great starter machine for the price you are paying and i would recommend it to everyone.

I have had my brother sewing machine for 2 years now and it seem as though it was a very good buy...I was just starting to sew and it was easy to get set up and get going...Not that great with traveling back and forth. Thread does not stay in position anymore and it causes me much delay in my projects. I have to re-thread the machine alot.

i am a novice crafter/seamstress. while in the middle of a project my ancient singer died. i felt buying a new machine was kind of a gamble and didn't have much money to invest in my hobby. i sucked it up and ordered this machine. it arrived quickly and i was quite impressed. it is super easy to set up and use. not a million different stitches or fancy gadgets (thank goodness!), but a real workhorse! i would recommend it!

I could not get this machine to work. The bottom thread would not catch. I tried cleaning it out and rethreading but nothing worked. I thought it was just me. After I spent a few hours reading through the manual, I gave up. Ended up returning it to my local Target and purchased the Singer Esteem. Plugged it in and the rest was history.

This sewing machine is quite cheap. And for this little money you get a relatively good product. The only drawbacks are: 1) limited options regarding stiching, 2) the machine does not run very smoothly and 3)it is quite loud. AND you unfortunately cannot return it to a Target shop if something is broken (which I learned only after I had already bought the sewing machine).
But I have to admit that my mother used to have a sewing machine of the company Pfaff - which is on the higher end of the scala. So I am maybe too critical...

This machine really helped me with it's simplicity and ease.
I hemmed my curtains and they actually look good!
By the way, brother has a website that can help with any question you have. [...]

I am a beginner and this machine is so easy to use. I love it. The instructions are easy to understand and it is easy to operate. I recommend it to anyone that wants to learn to sew.

this machine is good for pretty much any project. even with thicker fabrics the only problem i ever had in the 2 years that ive had it was getting the thread at the right tension but i think that was just user error.
