Details
Description
Follow along with Doug and Margaret as they build a steel frame, gas engine, two seater go kart from scratch. You'll see every step of the project in full detail, including steering, brakes, clutch, chain, jack shaft, pedals engine, and seat. The frame is constructed of strong yet inexpensive steel pipe shaped in a commonly available hydraulic bender, then mig welded. You'll see gas and arc welders, a milling machine, drill press, lathe, grinders, band saws and other tools in use. All parts are discussed, from the horizontal shaft four stroke overhead valve engine, to the big lawn tractor turf tires, to the centrifugal clutch, live axle, and drum brake.
