Its the absolute easiest thing to put together! It took 20-30 minutes and the directions aren't even needed. The largest amount of time was spent taking it out of the box and making sure all the screws were there. I use it at the foot of my bed and I have shoes on the bottom shelf and clothes on the top shelf. I was going to get another unit to stack on it but my local Target was sold out of it.
Its another item that I didn't "fasten to the wall" as they instruct in the directions. I need the flexibilty to move it if I have to.

This is a good organizer for the price. My husband and I use two units stacked as a shoe rack. My only complaints are that it damages easily and they do not include instructions for assembly in the box, you must look them up online at the closetmaid website. It isn't a hard assembly, but not being very handy I could not have done it without instuctions and it seemed silly they do not include them in the box. But a good unit overall.

I bought four of these and placed them side by side to make a train/car table for my son. Instead of paying for a childish train table, I paid for these. Later on, I'll be able to stack them against the wall for more "grown-up" storage in his room. Placing them this way also gave me two big spaces underneath to store all of his trains, cars, and tracks. Perfect!
