OK, so I read all the reviews and was a little concerned from the negatives this recieved. I bought it anyway and I'm so happy I did. I'm tired of ironing my husband's work clothes so this steamer is a life saver. In about 20 minutes I can do all my "ironing" and still have some steam left for another job. It doesn't give you the crisp look like an iron does, but it does remove the wrinkles, which is all you can expect it to do. Its also good for allergies! Steam is a great way to kill dust mites! I steam my furniture, linens, you name it. For under $30, there is no reason to complain about this machine! All the complaints about spitting water, overflowing, etc - just read the directions before you use it and there are NO problems. You need to extend the hose to let the condensation in the hose fall back into the tank, then the unit won't "spit".
I almost spent $140 on the rowenta professional model - thank god I didn't. This unit is perfect for what I need it to do. Just buy it, you'll be happy that you did.

As mentioned by some, this will not replace an iron. If you expect it to you need to take your clothes to the dry cleaner. If you want to look presentable for work and hate ironing this was well worth the price I paid for it.
I wear alot of womens button up shirts and find them to be very difficult to iron and my lack of patience and skill does not help either. The steamer on the other hand was very easy to use and functioned to level that made me very presentable for work.
Good:
-I was able to steam all the shirts I own (10-11) and the several skirts and pants in about 30 minutes.
-even and strong steam if used correctly-READ the DIRECTIONS about what to do when the tube sputters and it wont dribble on your shirt or hands
-The pants and skirts were all synthethic material and this is when the steamer functioned the best only requiring 2-3 pases to look great.
- the shirts were all polyester cotton bends some where very wrinkly and though it did take alot of passes they still looked nice when they were done
-easy set up and clean up
-stores in a very small space
[...]
-water reserve was only a little over half gone after may 30 minutes of steaming
Bad-
-makes wrinkly clothes slightly wet with lots of passes (this actually wasnt bad for me I just let them hang on the door knob to dry for 10-15 minutes and then put them away and they look great)--but not for last minite use like in the AM right before you are late for work
-does take a long time to heat up 10 minutes for full strong steam
-i burned myself a couple of times with the steam--not seriously-but I wont blame this on the machine as it was usually my falt for holding the garment and then trying to steam to close to my hand
All in all I am very please with my purchase especially for the price. I can't speak to the long term druability but I would recommend the purchase even if it only worked 3 or 4 times as my dry cleaning bill would be twice that by then.
Tips for successful use:
-read the directions- i know it sounds stupid but i was much more successful once i did-before that i was less than statisfied with the machines function

I bought this not really sure if it was going to get the job done. I wanted to use it for touching up my wedding gown and it worked really well. I did have to go over it a couple of times but that was stated in the directions, so not a big deal. I am very happy with the results.

Great, other than a short hose.

I'm new to the steamer world, but this one seems to be pretty good! It does a great job with my curtains. I really bought it to steam my wedding dress. The dress shop wanted to charge me $80 to steam it for once, and this little guy was [half that price] at target! So I decided to do it on my own, and have something to show for it in the end. It works well, but the hose is really kind of short and I find myself setting it on a step stool so that I can reach things like the tops of garments and curtains. One trick the seamstress taught me was to wrap a wash cloth around the top and secure it with a rubber band to avoid water drops staining the fabric. Apparently all steamers have water drop problems? Anyway, if you follow the instructions, it works well and it seems to be a good deal. I'd buy it again, or maybe one with a longer hose if it wasn't too expensive.

I read a lot of reviews on various fabric steamers and decided to try this one out. Knowing it was only $30, I knew not to expect iron crispness. I was very pleased...at first. The steamer worked well on the first two cotton shirts I did but by the time I got to the 3rd shirt, the handle was spurting out so much water that the shirt had wet spots all over it. I thought is was because I was getting low on water but when I checked the water level, it was still 3/4 of the way filled. I'll be returning it in hopes of finding a better one.

I hate ironing and thought I'd try steaming. This item works great for drapes and curtain sheers. Also works well with lighter fabric clothes. Garments made of cotton sheeting, like dress shirts don't get as crisp as ironing but the wrinkles do soften. Definitely follow the steaming instructions. Heats up in less than 5 minutes. The cons are the blue hose is stiff at first and needs to be longer to reach the top of any curtains. The hose also gets very hot. The electrical cord could be longer too. Overall, I'm glad with the purchase.

I absolutely love this product! I was set on buying a more expensive garment steamer becuase it came with the pole, but as long as you have a door you are good to go. It is so easy and fun to steam clothes. My clothes are not only wrinkle free, but smell fresher. I suggest forgettinbg about your iron and switching to this fabric steamer.

I use this to freshen up my clothes before work in the morning. I've also used it for curtains and bed skirts. It makes me feel presentable for work, but I suppose it's not as crisp as dry cleaning.
I HATE ironing -- and this has substituted for ironing almost entirely for me. My only wish is that the hose was a touch longer and that it had automatic shut off, say, if the water level gets too low. It can burn up if left on too long by accident.

I bought this steamer for my Chair Cover Rental Business. I thought I needed to buy a commercial steamer for my needs, but this one does the job! I was skeptical because of the price, but I'm glad I didn't spend over $100 for the professional steamers! Just follow the instructions, and it works wonderfully.
