This desk is perfect for my daughter for her first desk. It is very sturdy, well-made and was easy to put together. She has lots of room to work! For the price, the quality is great!

I purchased this desk and the hutch that goes with it at my local Target store today. The store had been out of stock on this item for several weeks and was also not in stock online so my daughter and I were ecstatic when we saw they had ONE desk and the matching hutch at the store today. We just took it out of the box and found 2 places on the outside of the desk that were cracked and three spots where the paint was either chipped off completely or starting to peel up. I am very dissatisfied with this purchase and guess we will have to do without a desk since our store is now sold out and it is still out of stock online. Back to the store the desk and hutch go!

This desk looks very nice & the quality is great. When I bought the desk the chair was out of stock, I got it anyway to take advantage of the 15% off and free shipping, and thought the chair will be available soon since this is a fairly new item. Now the chair has been removed from the collection. I contacted Target.com and was informed that they do not have any information from the supplier and are not able to say when it would be available again. If you're thinking of a set this might not work.

I bought for my 9yr daughter. We needed a desk and this one is perfect. It is spacious we added the hutch and it just made an even perfect combination and organization in her room. She loves it because it is truly a beautiful piece of furniture.

I was leary buying this desk and expected cheaper quality for the price. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the desk. I put it together in an hour. It is put together very well - not cheap like some of those pressboard desks. It is sturdy and looks great in my home office/spare bedroom.
I want to go back and get another one for my daughter. Love it!

We purchased this desk for our tween daughter. The first desk we purchased from the store came with a glue mark across the top. The second desk we received from the store had a drill bit sticking out of one leg which we took back to the store and asked to exchange the leg with one from the first desk's box (which we had just returned due to the glue). When we went to unwrap the drawer and put it in the desk, we found that it had a nick in the paint, but my husband decided to just keep the drawer as he felt it was "the law of diminishing returns". After our daughter used the desk for one week, the finish got multiple scratches on it just from her laying her books on it. We recommend you put a BIG blotter on the desk and never set anything on the desk, but instead set it on the blotter.

While the desk is a great size and is quite pretty looking, it does have its flaws, such as the finish. Unlike other consumers, we did NOT notice any strange smells with the desk.

We also purchased the matching chair, which again is quite pretty, but does scratch just from sitting on it.

I have several of these pieces and I'm about to order the hutch and desk. When I first put these in one of our guest rooms, it did have an odor, however, after a few weeks it has dissipated. I was worried since it is for guests I wouldn't want to have any type of odor. They are very nice pieces and we are very pleased.

I am picky costomer and I had been worried before I made the purchase that there would be any kinds of flaws with this table. To my surprise, it came in a perfect shape. And the actual table looks ever better than in the picture. I am sensitive to smells and I hate all weird smells. I saw the review from another customer the one he got smelled badly. I feel fortunate that my table has no strange, strong smell of any kind. It's PERFECT. The shipping took 2 weeks though.

It looks great but smells bad.

I bought it today with the hutch and put them all together in my "office." It looks nice, but the smell is terrible! The box reads "Country of Origin: Vietnam." Well, now that I've got it put together, the whole house stinks like an exotic restaurant (I prefer a fresh clean scent, or rather, no scent at all). The scent is permeated in the wood I guess. I hope it goes away - I remember reading a review recently about this furniture "stinking." Now I know!
