Sturdy and free from defects. It is more than just 'some' assembly, but all tools and parts (plus extra bolts) are included. The instructions are verbal and pictorial - fairly clear and easy. I am not mechinal nor an engineer and I managed within 15 minutes to assemble a strong, even stool. The seat fits my very ample behind! The picture looks like distressed or antique white paint, but it is solid, even white.

We purchased this stool for our island in our kitchen. It's a pure white color that fits perfectly with our new white kitchen cabinets. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product and the ease at which it went together. I mean everything fit like a glove....which is not the usual case with this self-assembly furniture. Directions were very detailed and clear. They even included and extra bolt, cross dowel (nut) and wood plug in the hardware bag. I would highly recommend this product.

This stool is very nice, easy to assemble. It looks uncomfortable but it really isn't. The picture seems to show white distressed wood, but it is pure white. My husband and I were very pleased. Excellent value
