I purchased this 2 seasons ago because I have year round allergies/sinus problems and I LOVE Hello Kitty. This works better than other humidifiers I have had and doesn't require expensive replacement filters. There are a few catches though: When the red light comes on, the water is low and it needs to be re-filled. If no mist comes out, you need to take a cotton swab and clean off that little silver disc in the bottom. It that is corroded with residue from your tap water, it won't make mist. It is also very important to change the water regularly and make sure you clean out the tank and wipe off the inside of the base. Tap water had a lot of stuff in it and it can be really gross and get slimy inside if you don't. As for noise, I think is it very quiet, much more so than a plain one I purchased with a paper filter that smelled so odd I had to return it.

I normally don't write reviews, but I do make sure I read them before I make a purchase. In this situation I think it's important to give my opinion because I don't believe this product should get such low ratings and reviews.

I was hesitant to purchase this based on the poor reviews, but I am glad I gave it a shot. I now understand the prior complaints I read from other customers, but please know that it was because THEY DID NOT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

First, the filter DOES fit. It belongs on the base of the product not on the water chamber. Secondly, the vents on the bottom must be clear and free from blockages (do not put a towel underneath it).

In conclusion, go ahead and buy this cute little humidifier and read the directions and it will work just fine!

Hi, I just liked to say that I had that problem. It got LOUD and wouldn't work. BUT I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

You have to turn the dial kind of slowly when you first turn it on. You have to keep trying until it isn't loud. It takes Practice.

So... mine is still working. Also, if the platform it's standing on isn't completely level, it will continue to make that loud noise because it's tilting on one side.

I really wish this worked, but it doesn't. It is just SO perfect except that it either gets a short in the light, or makes a loud buzzing noise or doesn't work altogether. I went online hoping it was just a problem with mine, but apparently this lovely beauty has serious design flaws.

Though this is adorable (as the reviewer below mentioned), the exact same thing happened with ours. It worked for one year. I turned it on the other night and it was LOUD! Needless to say, we need to buy a new one. For the price, it should last a bit longer. I too, cleaned it properly. It is just not made to last!

We bought this for our daughter when she was about two or three months old to help her sleep easier at night( helped prevent her from getting a REALLY bad stuffed nose). it was really cute and pretty quiet and the light was a plus. Last week we turned it on and a LOUD humming noise came out too! dissappointed @ how short it lasted. we cleaned it and maintained it sooo it shouldn't have given up! we have two other Crane humidifiers for about three years (penguin and frog) and they're still going.

Had it about a year or so and only used it a few times. It worked great at first, but all of a sudden it's making loud noises and the mist isn't coming out like it's supposed to. I'm disappointed b/c it's so cute and matched my daughters bedroom decor. Now I need to buy a new one!(not this one though)

I bought this 7 months ago for my baby girl, I love it we use it very often because the weather here is very dry and it always works fine, the only thing I would change is the light, a PINK light instead or purple it would have look cuter.

I am very satisfied with this humidifier - it is not only cute and matches our baby's room but also helps to prevent dry nose (which I usually had because of the heater - ohhh...) - I feel much better now, and very glad that my newborn daughter never had my problem!
I can recommend it to anyone!
