Junk Product? Junk Warranty. May 16, 2008 Reviewer:  Christina Kay "The Marine Corps Mama" (Everywhere!)  See all my reviews >

I received this product at my baby shower off my registry. The idea of it is really awesome.

So, allergy season comes around, and its time to take this thing out of the box for my daughter. It doesn't work. I open the manual, trouble shoot. The green light comes on, the waters full, I hear it humidifying, but the vapors aren't rising. I remove the water reservoir, and theres all the humidity, collecting on the bottom.

Naturally, I call the company to tell them I just tried to use their product, trouble-shooted it as the book said, and it didn't work on its first run.

They say send it back, and we'll send you a new one. I say, do I have to pay for shipping, they say yes. I say how much, they say 12 to 14 dollars. I say, "Well thats half the price of the product - What kind of warranty is that. I just opened this product for the first time, it doesn't work, and you guys can't pay for the shipping? I'm going to purchase another humidifier, and go online and right horrible reviews about this product".

So here I am. If you buy this product, and have problems with it (or it doesn't work) YOU, the customer, for their manufacturing errors, are going to end up paying for 1/2 of another humidifier.

This company will not stand behind the "integrity" of their product. 1 star, I would not recommend this to friends.

Excellent humidifier with gentle "trickle" sound January 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Benny "Benny" (United States)  See all my reviews >

I've needed a humidifier for a while now and decided to check out my options. I saw a great video review for the Crane Penguin humidifier on [another website] and picked one up from my local Target store. This thing is SO amazing! I just filled up the tank, plugged it in, and voila! Instant cool mist!

The only noise I get from my model is the "trickling" noise very similar to what you'd experience with a desk top fountain. I actually find the little piddling noises enjoyable.

So overall: Decent price, great product, no complaints so far.

Junk! October 30, 2009 Reviewer:  Satisfied customer (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

I bought this humidifier as a replacement for one that was leaking (different brand). It worked great for about 4 days. Then it started making a funny noise and no mist at all was coming out of the top. I lifted the tank to find that all the cool mist was sitting at the bottom, but obviously wasn't making it's way to the top. Total waste of money!

Soon to Be Momma October 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Microbiologist Mom "Jenn G" (Post Falls, ID)  See all my reviews >

We are decorating our babies nursery with an Artic theme so the penguin fits in great! As a microbiologist Im ok with the small water reserve because that means there is less chance for bacterial growth inside. I also suggest to everyone to be sure NOT to use hard water in the unit. Buy a the jug from the store. The harder the water the more mineral deposits and soon it "won't work". You can do a vinegar soak to remove the deposits but rinse well or the room will smell like a salad.

I had bought another brand of humidifier and it leaked everywhere. I found this one on sale and decided to give it a try. We love it! It works great and it looks really good in the kids rooms too!

Broke the first time I used it. January 3, 2009 Reviewer:  tlh See all my reviews >

I got this before I had my baby because it was so cute. I used it once and it broke about 2 hours after I plugged it in.

No problems. December 21, 2008 Reviewer:  KL (CT)  See all my reviews >

This is my second year using my humidifier. I love it. It works really well and I only have to fill the reservoir once a day. I have never had any problems with water leaking, unless I DON'T PUT IT IN THE BASE CORRECTLY. And that would be a human error and not a product error. I am registering for another one since it is a great product and I am very pleased with it.

College kid friendly November 30, 2008 Reviewer:  Sensible Student "George C." (Ames, IA, 50013)  See all my reviews >

My mother purchased this for my dorm room b/c it was often very dry and static charged. Its sufficient size is not over accommodating within a small dorm room. In fact the small penguin is kind of cute even if it's not the holiday season. Filling and assembling of the humidifier is simple and sits perfectly on small surface area. Does not cause a disturbing noise even if you have a roommate who is a light sleeper. This is a great appliance! I'd really recommend it.

Excellent Humidifier November 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Scott G. (San Antonio, TC)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this humidifier about a year ago, and use it daily in my grandson's room. I have it placed high off the ground so, the mist coming out of the beak is perfect. The water capacity is great and it is easy to fill and clean. I had another brand before, and had to replace it 3 times in one year, not with this crane. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Consumer BEWARE May 28, 2008 Reviewer:  Conscientious Mom "April O" (Jacksonville, Tx)  See all my reviews >

I bought this product in preparation for my 5 year old's T&A procedure and am fairly happy with it, it is cute and fits in with his room and is very quiet. It is a pain to empty & clean each morning, but I am a clean-freak and it MUST be done PERFECTLY or I just KNOW I'm harboring mold or having my child inhale Bleach vapors, so I clean it ritualistically, which is probably not necessary. My biggest concern is that there is no product registration for this product, and being a paranoid parent, I contacted the company. I was told that the website would post any recall info if one came up and there was no system for registering the product. This is ridiculous to me because who checks the website of all the products you own and if something is found unsafe, you could keep using it for lack of knowing, ecspecially since this is a product geared for children in the first place, it shows disregard for my child's safety! I feel this company should be more consumer-friendly and make it easier for the parents to be secure that their product is safe for use in their childrens' rooms, not too much to ask, I think. Boo to the Crane Company, I just hope they were more consumer-conscious when they manufactured the thing and that nothing will go wrong with it, but then most of us will never know, now will we?
