Bought this to hold my dvd collection. Assembly went quickly and smoothly with no problems at all. I found the shelves to be plenty sturdy and they were able to hold a great many dvds. I'm looking to get another. The only problem I have is a small aesthetics problem. I wasn't able to snap on any of the screw covers. The tiny little pegs just would not fit the screw heads and I mangled quite a few trying to tap them on with a hammer before giving up. With my shelves being the espresso finish, the silver screws are highly noticeable, guess I'll just have to find stickers of some sort.

I bought the cherry wood color for my 2 son's toys that migrated to our living room. It only took about 1 hour to assemble by myself. I got 4 canvas bins to go with it and it's perfect. It hides all of their toys and I have a place for their books. It looks neat and organized.

My wife and I have been eyeing these for a few months now while trying to come up with a practical storage solution for our son's closet. Well, they went on sale this week [...], so we bought one.

To our dismay, we found that the thing is not worth even [the sale price]. I'd not pay $5 for it. The pieces began to disintegrate as we assembled it. A couple of the dowels were broken as well.

We're not rookies when it comes to putting together modular furniture of this nature. We've purchased several pieces of furniture from Target in the past when we were apartment dwellers as it was affordable and practical. We've never had this kind of trouble with anything that Target has sold us before ... until now.

My advice to you: don't waste your time or money. If you can find something more rugged for a little more money, then do so. As for us? Back to the planning stage we go.

LOVE this storage unit. Goes perfectly with our sons' room decor... have older sons stuff up higher so the baby can't reach. Purchased the sage green color to go with our jungle theme room... planning on adding dark brown and khaki colored drawers that are available in store as well. Got it on sale in store... beats the price other stores have for similar shelving (over [price] in savings!). LOVE TARGET!

We bought this to use to put our daughters toys in and we love it so much we are buying 3 more to make a toy wall in our playroom. The cubies are a great size for most toys to fit in. It is easy to find containers that are big enough to fit in them too. We can't wait to have all the toys for our 3 girls more organized. We can see them working when they are older too.....they are 4 years old, 2 years old, and 2 months old. They come with a anchor and attachment to attach to the wall so they don't tip. We love them.

This product is great! I bought one for my son's room, he is seven. I liked it so much I went back and bought another one. He loves his new storage unit too!! Great product!

I bought this for my r sons room. I was looking for something closer to his height, sturdy, and something that promoted organization (vs a toybox).

I paid $.. for this and bought it in the cherry finish. I bought 4 canvas totes in addition for storage and I have to say I am quite pleased. I anchored the shelving unit to the wall because it is in a toddlers room and he can be quite rough, but thus far it's worked out great.

The only thing I did differently from the directions was to add a little wood glue in with the dowels to ensure stability (better safe than sorry), and my only complaint with assembly was that the longer boards didn't come with a letter or number sticker on them to help differentiate so it took me about 10-15 minutes to figure out what was what, but once I did it went together quickly.

I actually plan on buying several more for the house.

This was easy to put together (easier than ... stuff). It looks a lot nicer than I thought it would, as a matter of fact, a lot of people ask me where I got it and went out and got it themselves.

I use two of them to organize toys. I bought various colored fold-able baskets that fit in them, and it just looks great, adds color to the room, and is a super way to organize toys.

I have two and plan to get more.

I would suggest going out and buying this item for yourself if the bad reviews are holding you back. As long as you follow the directions and have experience in putting furniture together (read directions, count hardware, handle tools) then you will be surprised at how nicely this piece turns out. I bought this in the darker color, with Ivory/natural drawers and it looks very classy for what it is. Several people have seen mine and gone out to purchase their own.
