Good value for the money June 18, 2006 Reviewer:  double iced latte (Fullerton, Ca)  See all my reviews >

I really like this machine. It's a no-nonsense, dependable machine for those who want a simple espresso or cappucino. And at this price, it's a good value. Here's a tip for anyone who's ever owned a lower-priced coffee maker: keep the switch turned on, and use plug to turn the machine on and off. The weakest part on the whole unit is the little plastic switch that lights up. They are made to last only 18 - 24 months. One day you will try to turn it on, and the switch will pop out or crack. And when that happens, they can't be repaired - you have to buy a new coffee maker. Trust me on this. I've gone through several, and finally learned my lesson.

I'm impressed October 12, 2006 Reviewer:  Mountain Woman "If you're lucky enough to live in the mountains, you're lucky enough!" (6700 feet in Big Bear City California)  See all my reviews >

Having never made a cup of espresso before, I was worried about how messy or difficult it might be. But I was desperate for anything that would make decaf taste decent. I was amazed at how easy it is to use and how wonderful even decaf tastes now.

It took making a couple test batches to get the measuring and the process down, and the frother takes a little experimenting to get the timing and technique right, but after one day I'm doing a darn good job of it.

I love this machine. It appears very sturdy, well made, well designed and takes up even less room than my old Mr. Coffee drip machine. And it's pretty fast! The instructions say it could take up to two minutes, but a single cup of espresso takes much less time than that. I'm really pleased with my first venture into homemade espresso. This is a nice little machine, and does a great job for the price!

Best deal price wise December 9, 2007 Reviewer:  Dianasaur "Mrs. J" See all my reviews >

After working at Starbucks and getting free espresso drinks for 4 years, I needed an espresso machine to support my habit. This one was the most affordable with the best reviews, and so we went with it. I am so impressed! First of all, don't follow the directions on steaming the milk, instead of moving the pitcher up and down just keep the tip of the steam wand right below the surface of the milk. That will make foam instead of bubbles. The quality of the espresso shot isn't the best, so if you've drink straight espresso I wouldn't recommend this. But for lattes, cappuccinos, or flavored americanos, it's so worth it. The money we're saving is great. (Even for a pro barista like me it took a few tries to get right so don't get discouraged at first!)

Awesome May 7, 2006 Reviewer:  P. Fralick Real Name See all my reviews >

Great cup the first time out. I needed to read the directions a couple of times before actual use. However everything went well. Well worth the investment

I love it! March 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Miha "redhead" (Chicago, Il)  See all my reviews >

It is my first expresso maker, and I like it! It took few times until I learn how to make cappucino, now I have a thick foam in my cup! Easy to clean, doesn't take much room on the counter.

Perfect March 1, 2007 Reviewer:  sarahb (Denver, CO)  See all my reviews >

For the money, this is a great product. Learning how to use the frother took a little time, but I now prefer my lattes over the $4-5 ones I used to buy.

steam driven is not the way to go June 25, 2007 Reviewer:  hardwired (NC)  See all my reviews >

The only process that should be steam driven is the steaming of the milk. Steam is TOO HOT to make espresso. The hot (but not boiling) water should be pushed through by a pump.

For a few dollars more, Delonghi makes a cheap but effective pump driven model.

Espresso What?? September 11, 2008 Reviewer:  coffee guru See all my reviews >

This machine is terrible, the main reason people buy these machines is to be able to froth your milk, with this machine (which doesn't come with the frothing plate) you must make your drink and try to froth at the same time. What a joke, with this machine you'll be lucky to do both before the steam runs out and your left holding cold milk.

Best espresso for the price! January 19, 2009 Reviewer:  Caffeinated Med Student See all my reviews >

Pros:
Easy and quick way to make a latte. Taste just as good as espresso drink, especially if you add the flavoring syrups. Great for people who don't want an entire pot of coffee.

Cons:
If you like really hot espresso and milk then you're not going to get it with this. I usually heat my milk some before I froth it.
Also the movable frothing arm doesn't really move that far so it's almost impossible to find a cup that will fit under the arm, allow room to froth your milk without spilling over, and still be able to pull the "arm" out of the cup without spilling the milk all over.

I use this to make great iced coffee drinks and if I want it hot I make sure to heat my milk in the microwave first.

After using this for 6 months, I'd say that it holds up really well and was definitely worth the price since I've saved so much by not buying my morning espresso.
