This desk is heavy duty particle board with a thin veneer that chips easily. I purchased it for my 11 yr old- a waste of money. Very, Very unsteady..Very poor quality. Spend the extra money don't buy the room essential brand desk.

This desk is very nice looking but it is very cheap in quality, very FLIMSY!!! and the color scratches off for any thing you hit it with. It wont last for long so i would have rather just paid a little extra for a better desk that would last longer. I thought since target sold it that it would be a great quality but i guess wrong. I regret it.

The desk is beautiful but poor in quality and support. It took about 2 hours to put together. Had problems setting the keyboard drawer to align properly. After finally getting it together, the desk can barely hold a book without seeming as if it will fall over. I don't trust this desk at all. At this point I have it as a decrotive table in my living room with a plastic vase on top. I don't trust it for anything else.

This is a great work desk to hold my laptop and printer. It may be a little tight for a PC though. Assembly took a little longer than expected, but it wasn't difficult to put together. It's a little crooked, but it's worth the price that I paid for.

I got this desk when it was on sale for [price] I wish I bought two. The dark espresso looks very classy. I put this item together by myself the two small front side peices do not align perfectly. However, I am the only one who notices it. The next time this item goes on sale I will purchase another for my master bedroom.

Ok this took way to long to put together, it doesn't look that complicated and it shouldn't but it took over an hour to put together. The pieces were not labeled clearly, some of the pieces didn't fit properly and I had to struggle a bit to make them fit. Wow it just took to much energy. However, having said that for the price I paid it is a very nice looking desk. My computer and printer look very nice and I'm happy with the end result.

I just purchased two of these over the weekend in Maple and they're built just fine for what they are. I did, however add Elmers Glue to places that I could to help with the rigidness - they're not very stable otherwise and I'm planning on fastening some ITSO cubes to the side that will also help with the rigidness as well. Overall it's a good, buy and it's VERY easy to put together, but I will say if you don't follow the instructions (typical Sauder type) you can make mistakes and then they'll of course compound as with anything you're building. I didn't have any problems at all with the drawer, works perfectly! Note: in the picture it look slike the sides are thicker than most, but they're not it's a cosmetic piece of wood, had it sides that were that thick it would have much better rigidness.

i bought this desk five or six months ago. i needed a desk for my sewing machine to go on. and this was cheap and looked really nice! took like an half an hour to put together. the only thing wrong with it was that they had put the finish on the wrong side of a piece but it was going against the wall anyway. so it wasnt going to bee seen. i am seriously thinking of buying another so i can hold my fabric while sewing it! very happy with my decision! PEACE OUT!

I usually take these reviews with a grain of salt, so I didn't pay much attention to the one rotten (and humorous) review of this desk. I wish I had. I've been pleased with other Target furniture but this is just a horrible desk. The drawer is all crooked and won't even close. It is also so wobbly that my 2 year old can shake it. The one good thing is that I called my local store and they said we don't have to take it apart again...we can just return it as is. At least we won't have to spend any MORE time on this.
