Works fine after you read the manual which is not good!

My husband gave me this for Christmas as I asked for 'a digital photo frame". I think I should have researched more and given him a specific brand that did exactly what I wanted. I assumed these frames were pretty much the same, but not true. I also asked for one with a lot of memory and this one had the most he could find. Once I read and understood the instruction book ( hardest part, not written in proper English ) I was able to make it do everything I wanted. You do really have to read the instructions though and practice using the remote etc. There are certain modes that you have to go through every time to get it to do what you want. I would say this is not as easy as you would think, but they may all be that way! I think I am tech savvy but this was more challenging than I thought it would be.

Cannot get remote to work or pictures to upload

I bought this as a Mother's Day gift but taking it back today after spending an hour trying to get pictures to upload. Using the remote per the instruction manual is impossible to copy, it bypasses the copy feature in the set-up menu. The copy button on the remote gets no response either. I have a panasonic digital frame that takes just a couple of minutes to upload with no issues. I am pretty electronically saavy and could not get it to work. My mother would never be able to use it. I can honestly say this was the most frustrating experience I have had with a product in a long time.

This DPF is great. Here are the pluses:
+ good touch/feel
+ nice screen (800x600)
+ remote control does it all the best!
+ can play music with picture slide show
+ downloading pictures from PC is very easy (no need to rename or resize anything)
+ automatically rotates pictures
+ tiny built in speakers are fine for sound
+ you can turn slide show music on/off
+ you provide slide show music by simply copying MP3 files to external memory (USB drive, etc.)
+ Alarm and timed on/off features
+ you can control picture transition type and speed like in MS Powerpoint
I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I exceeded my expectations for my gift. The quality and ease of use are great. It will easily satisfy a techie and/or simply a grandma type.

Nice display, mediocre interface

I had one of these for about a year, and it worked flawlessly. Pics look nice. The menu system is clumsy, slow, and awkward, but if you plug it into your PC it is pretty easy to maintain the pictures in the frame without messing with interface of the frame itself.
I liked it so much that I bought a second one as a gift, and go figure -- the week after my own frame began freezing during slide shows. Cycling power would fix it for a while. I notice others have the same complaint. I followed the instructions to reformat the frame storage (use your computer to do this) and that seems to have fixed it. So -- if you have a frozen frame, reformat the memory in the frame before you panic (you must redownload the pics again, no big deal).

I received this Digital Photo Frame as a gift for my birthday and I absolutely love it. I see what at this price it is a great gift, and I love that they have a different frame sold seperately that helps to match the decor of my house. I recommend this one, my friend has a HP 7" but I like this unit better!

I've had it running for about 3 weeks without any problems. I use the internal memory only. If I were to design the product I would move the on/off switch to a more accessible location. Right now it is on the back near the center. I keep the frame at work and I like to save power by turning the frame off before I leave for the night, especially before the weekend. The on/off switch would be more accessible if it were located on the top. Also, it doesn't seem to save the slideshow time settings after a power down. I set my slideshow for 1 minute so that the flipping images do not distract me. But when I turn the frame off and then back on in the morning, it reverts back to the default 3 seconds. Third item, for the photos stored on internal memory, it would be good for each photo to have a "rotate" checkbox so that photos originally taken with the camera rotated will be properly displayed. Since it doesn't have this feature, you have first rotate the photo using your computer before you load it onto the frame. It would be nice to have a slot on the back to hold the remote. I only intend to use it for photos, though it can play music and video. I got it as a gift from my wife, so indirectly I "paid" for these extra features that I won't ever use. So I recommend looking for a cheaper frame if you only want photo display.

We have 4 frames in our house - Different brands. This one never would start up - I got hour glass icons over the memory icon and the memory card icon which would never go away. I thought it was just loading images but none of our others had to do that and after 15 minutes I realized this was the "piece of junk" so many other reviewers of this product have described. It goes back tomorrow. Read and heed all of the negative reviews - Target should as well and quit peddling this.

Steer Clear of this Frame

My husband purchased this frame for me as a gift. The remote is practically useless as it fails to change the pictures while in slideshow mode. About once a day the frame will just stop on one of the pictures on my SD card, then I will have to turn it off and on a few times to get the photos to start cycling again. Finally after just a few months, the frame just would not turn back on. I am getting ready to return it, but based on the other reviews it doesn't sound like I will have much luck with a new one!

I have the same problems as the others. This is my second one. The first one just stopped working after I had it about 3 months. I took it back to Target for an exchange. Now the second one keeps freezing up on different pictures as it is going thru the slideshow. I've deleted the pictures altogether thinking it was the picture but then it will freeze up on another picture. Very frustrating. Target says they can't do anything for me since my receipt expired 2 1/2 weeks ago. All I want to do is exchange it for a different brand...I'm not asking for my money back! Buy at your own risk if you choose this one!

I've had the same experience as some of the previous reviewers. I got this frame as a gift last October. Now, just 7 months later, the slideshow function no longer works(freezes on just one photo). Don't waste your money!!!
