While the lack of solo adventure options is a drawback this game looks great and it plays very similar to Tabletop RPG's.
Leveling to level 10 can be completed in a weeks worth of 'power gaming' however I played for three days and only got up thru level 3. Further while on the surface 10 levels isnt much there are intermediate "action point" levels 4 per level which offer smaller bonuses. Meaning there are 40 levels in the MMORPG sence.
Of cource finding a good group CAN be a problem going to a full bar and listing yourself as LFG(looking for a group) generaly causes an invite within 30 seconds. The Game is expansive and the play is a challange but is easy to grasp.
(all in all)
Tabletop Gamers will enjoy this game especialy if you are seperated by distance from your old college gaming group.
W.O.W., FF11, Everquest and other MMORPG fans will not appreciate the different gameplay style

I had anticipated this game since I heard about it being made. I was hoping that this would be a superior product to many MMORPG's out there on the market.
I wanted this game to succeed, and while it's fun for awhile. Forced grouping, with 0 solo content (you could run solo campaigns with D&D I remembered playing them with an invisible ink marker which described your progress, so it was possible), no tradeskills and all instancing makes this game a time sink looking for a group.
Maybe I need to go back and give it another try but so far, I'm not too impressed, I won't be renewing my subscription when my 30 days runs out.
The graphics, while great, just don't help that much when the art direction leaves everything cold and brown, there's lots of brown! There also missing key classes and races which might have made the game more fun. No monks or Druids, nor Half-Orcs for that matter.
All in all, a little too disappointing.

Monthly fee? For an instanced game?

Like Guild Wars this is an entirely instanced game. Even the taverns are instanced. Unlike Guild Wars Turbine expects that you will pay $15 a month to play. Even Diablo was better than this.
Turbine has a terrible history as a developer. Promising much and delivering little. If you are really interested in playing this game I suggest you wait a few months to see how well Turbine deals with bugs and content.
Within a week from release people have already max'ed out their characters. Typical Turbine debacle.

Dungeons and dragons online is an amazing game. The graphics are gorgous and the gameplay is amazing. Also people who haven't even played game should not rate a game by the company that develops it. The game however is diffrent then wow. There are lots more diffrent classes and races, the max level is 10. I know this sounds a little disapointing but it will be raised . Sometimes it takes days or weeks to level up. This isn't as bad as it seems. Exploring dungeons is amazing. I especially liked how you use a crosshair to fire your bow. You use the mouse to raise your should or swing your swing.
The company did a great job creating this game. You should definitely pick this up.

Be Warned--Turbine is one of the worst companies out there

I have played another Turbine product--Asheron's Call--for 5 years now. Right off the bat you might think that this is a good thing, the fact that they have sustained my buisness for that long. But it's not. There aren't many of us that play any longer, and the last few of us are stubborn and sworn to go down with the ship. We have watched this company slowly destroy this game...from betraying the trust of their fanbase to releasing far below sub-par content.By letting thrid-party applications do the jobs they prefer not to do themselves to providing little or no monitoring of 'greifing' or 'macroing'. They have destroyed the game that we all loved. Save your money and buy a product by a company which cares...and whose game will last true to the vision of which it was created.
