Wonderful eco-friendly alternative to expensive brushes! December 1, 2008 Reviewer:  Socal kewtie "Vivi C" (CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I cannot believe how soft these brushes are! I purchased this set plus the powder brush and I am extremely happy. The tips of the individual "hairs" are also soft so it doesn't feel like you're poking yourself with needles while you try and put your make up on, as I have experienced with other synthetic brushes. I hope these brushes are as durable as they are soft, even if they're not they are a great alternative to other brushes that may cost [price] for a single piece, let alone a set!

As an update: I am still very impressed with these! I have been using them for over a month now and they still feel brand new. I get great coverage with the powder brush (purchased separately) and I love the shape of the blush brush, it makes it easy to get natural looking highlights on your cheeks. Very nice quality.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would! January 17, 2009 Reviewer:  danakscully64 (Riverside, CA)  See all my reviews >

By far, best makeup brushes I've owned. Wait a minute... I'll have to say they tie with Everyday Minerals makeup brushes. I bought this kit after seeing it in stores (at Target). It's made with synthetic hairs (don't use animal hair, vegetarian) and is environmentally friendly. The bristles are incredible soft and don't shed much at all. When I switched from MAC cosmetics to Everyday Minerals, I needed some new brushes that worked with loose powder. I figured the price wasn't a huge risk if I didn't like them. Not only do I use them, but I've got about 7 other people using them as well (and counting). A+++

great brushes, especially for the price! April 22, 2009 Reviewer:  C. Hardy "kai's runner mommy" Real Name (san jose, ca)  See all my reviews >

i'm very pleased with these brushes; they're definitely as soft as others have commented, and i also saw that the brand has been featured in major beauty magazines. having said that, i'd like to address the issue put forth from another reviewer that they're "not so eco-friendly..." because after noticing many savvy marketers creating things (i.e. cutting boards, hair brushes, knitting needles, even paper)from bamboo because it's known as a highly sustainable resource, i seriously questioned where this reviewer's comments were coming from. i did some research and ultimately read from a research article that succinctly summed up what i'd found; it basically concludes that pandas becoming endangered because bamboo's being harvested is a weak argument since for 1, these arguers don't realize the bamboo harvested isn't the same kind as the ones pandas eat. honestly, i was most appalled by this reviewer calling people "ignorant" & "hypocrites" for buying this & then talking about riding one's bike, which has nothing to do with cosmetic tools! this is a place to review the tools, which i'm saying are not only lovely & of excellent quality, but are made of a highly sustainable resource & can be used without a guilty conscience!

Eco Friendly indeed. April 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Openfan (CA)  See all my reviews >

The brushes had very fine hair, which is not made of animal hair. The price is good too. The package gives you a fresh feeling every morning as you does your make-up. It is a good start for the day.
Yes, they are made in China, but the quality is good. I have been using them for over 4 months. Yes, labors are cheap in China, but if you stop buying products from China, those cheap labors would be ended up losing their jobs.

These brushes were great for their price! July 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Crystal "Crystal C" (gloucester, ma, USA)  See all my reviews >

The brushes were super soft and held just the right amount of product. The only way you can get to much product is when you use minerals because of the texture I suggest getting eco-tools other brush set when using minerals or pigments.

Super soft brushes at a good price June 18, 2009 Reviewer:  SangriaLvr (Chicagoland)  See all my reviews >

Have you seen the price of makeup brushes lately? I checked out some two weeks ago that must have been made from unicorn hair or something for the $$ they wanted or them. I bought these on sale partly because I was in the market for some brushes and I was bumping up an order to a minimum. I was not disappointed. The powder/foundation brush is wonderfully soft and the length of the handle fits nicely in my fairly large hand. I can't tell which is the concealer and which is the shadow brush as they are very similar but both work nicely.

As for worry over the bamboo and the starving pandas-- are you kidding me? Bamboo is one of the most sustainable woods out there. Have you ever tried to get rid of bamboo once you planted it?!? Holy cow, that stuff is on par with kudzu in its attempt to take over the world. You can sit and watch the stuff grow!

These suck July 9, 2009 Reviewer:  Enjoyer of Waffles "Lizy J." (Denver, CO)  See all my reviews >

I bought these in the store and I hated them. They hold too much powder so you have to use too much. I had to flick out the powder back into the palette so I wouldn't waste any. I actually returned these cause I hated them so much. I bought Sonia Kashuk brushes and they work SO much better.

Great Price, Great Product July 2, 2009 Reviewer:  Party Girl (Florida, USA)  See all my reviews >

When I bought these brushes I really didn't have high expectations. I figured they were cheaply made from poorly produced synthetic hair and wouldn't pick up much product(since they were so cheap to purchase.) I was so surprised! The blush brush is one of the softest brushes I have, I'd compare it to a MAC brush any day. I love that you get the hemp brush roll too. All for It's unbeatable. This would be a perfect gift, I definitely recommend these brushes to my friends and any of you reading the reviews.
