I have owned 2 of these as gifts (the first was stolen by the airlines) and the compass did not work on either one of them . The compass is a cheap useless toy and a visual fake out to trick the consumer into buying it .
But for [the price] I guess its an ok pocket knife , but the compass should not be a tool on this knife as it does not work.

I KNEW THIS WAS A REALATIVELY CHEAP TOOL , BUT I BOUGHT IT ANYWAY THINKING IT WOULD SERVE THE PURPOSE. GO IT HOME AND WAS MESSING WITH IT WHEN THE RUBBER HANDLES ON THE SIDES( THE BLACK PART IN THE PICTURE)FELL OFF. UPON FUTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THEY WERE JUST GLUED ON WITH CHEAP GLUE. I WILL BE TAKING THIS BACK TO THE STORE TOMMORROW, GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Excellent Multi purpose tool for camping

I've taken this tool on 2 camping trips, and am very happy with it. The knives work fine, and the scissors are very helpful for cutting fishing line. (I usually cut myself at least once every fishing trip if I just use a knife blade.) The bottle opener was very handy on my last trip while opening various beverages. I even used the can opener to open a tin of beans (it took a while, but you feel like a real man opening cans this way.) The red LED is helpful for finding the bathroom at night. The compass is tough to use, but I wouldn't call it useless. Plus, I don't use a compass much when camping. Overall, there are many useful tools all in one spot. I highly recommend this tool.
