this works REALLY surprisingly well....but after i bought it, I was thinking of the bad example I was teaching my kids-- other then the idea, it's a cool toy...but be careful...because this toy and other spy toys really instigates kids to start spying...and that is a new habit we are trying to break now--that didn't exist before this toy came into our home.

For the price I paid I expected better. This device is powered by a 9-volt battery that doesn't even fit inside the shoddily constructed "battery compartment", so I am forced to use it with the battery hanging. The dish comes with a hole in it, which reduces effectiveness. Overall I'm not very happy with this product, I bought one years ago for less that worked much better, my old one could pick up sound through walls, this one just gives me feedback when I try. I wouldn't recommend this product.
