The Emerson iPod Home Audio System is a high quality, highly aesthetic audio system packed full of features found on stereo equipment at double the price. The remote control feature "seals the deal" for convenience. The system offers equalizer control for jazz, pop, rock & classical sound through a speaker system suitable for concert hall quality sound at any volume. This home audio system is a dream machine for your iPod with desireable cd functions and digital alarm clock features. This audio system is well crafted, making it at-home in an executive's office, center stage in a large living room or in any setting where a single cd player is desired. The iPod feature charges the iPod giving you an extensive MP3 digital juke box with shuffle capabilities from the remote control. This purchase was for my office and I will definitely consider getting another one for at home use. Thank you, Target, for making this product available!

The system is very attractive and has extensive features and good sound quality BUT IT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY OF THE NEWEST GENERATION OF I-pod
NANOS, information that I would have really loved to have had before making a purchase decision.

I had been looking for a nice compact system for my home office with all features (iPod, AM/FM, CD and Alarm Clock). I found this one after searching every where, read all the reviews I could find and ended up buying it! I'm so glad I did, the sound quality is excellent, it doesn't take up too much space, it looks nice and works well. I'd recommend this product to anyone who is in the market.

Despite not looking further into about this product and assuming that it can fully work with all ipods, I've found out that charging it only works with the first generation ipod nano and not the most recent versions as this product did come out back in 05. In order to avoid any further disappointment, even though this won't charge with your Ipod Nano 4th generation (is what I have), it can still play music and you can change the songs with your remote and it plays them very nicely. My pops has the Logitech docking that can play all of the new and old ipods (he has the ipod touch), but it doesn't go as loud as mine! Emerson has a lot more features despite being bulky and kinda heavy making it somewhat of an inconvenience if you want to take your docking station anywhere. It does have a battery backup compartment though which is also a very nice feature. I figured out how to charge my ipod 4th gen with this. All you gotta do is find a USB in and out connector (don't know if it's called that) that goes to the machine, connect your ipod with the USB that came with it, and wala! I saw my ipod nano 4th gen being charged as it indicated the bolt on the top right.

I don't know why these other reviews for this system are so good. Yes, the item does look great and has a handy remote but that is the only positive thing about this stereo. The sound is absolutely awful. No matter the level of bass you adjust it too it is too much for the system to handle (even on the lowest setting). When you play a CD at normal to low volume it makes itself skip. The sound quality is just all around terrible regardless what setting (especially the surround sound setting). Furthermore, if you purchased your ipod after 2006 you have to make sure you still have your docking attachment that came with it and there is not a newer ipod shuffle option if you don't have the cord. The docking/connection issue isn't that important but do not buy this system if you are hoping to be able to listen to clear sound or any sound that isn't completely muffled.

I bought this a few weeks ago, mostly due to the reasonable price and good reviews. I really like it so far. It's the perfect size for a shelf or a nightstand. And my large, curious cat was unable to knock it over, so it's pretty sturdy. There are blue display lights on the front and along the sides, which may bother those who want complete darkness when they go to sleep. Also, the battery on the remote control is really tough to remove and replace. I will just take it to Target when that time comes because I'm worried I'll break it (or break a fingernail.) The sound is really impressive for a unit this size. Also, it will play CD's, and I still have lots of those. But since this unit was manufactured in 2006, I'm worried about whether or not this is compatible with some of the newer Ipods. It works fine with a 4GB Ipod Nano, but will have to contact Emerson to see if this will work with a newer Ipod before I purchase one.

The sound in this unit is awesome. It has great sound on CD and Ipod. The FM does have a little static but I didn't buy it for the radio.
