Description

    Combining clean modern lines with an excellent use of space, this mdf and plywood bench is a must-have for your dorm room or apartment. Three natural-colored cushions top it for a soft seat when putting on/taking off shoes, and 3 baskets hide below and store them—along with gloves, scarves and purses. If you like using the baskets but aren’t crazy about the look, just turn the bench around so the open side faces the wall. Same function, new look. Part of the Entryway collection. Imported.

Sturdy, with a center leg to help bear weight, and extremely utilitarian, this multi-purpose bench has helped us accomplish the seemingly impossible--keeping the bedroom tidy. Three baskets, designed to fold flat for storage, slide in and out easily to catch and sort socks and other stray items that used to be dropped about the room. Three firm cushions are covered in medium-weight muslin. At first, all the pieces of assembly hardware look daunting, but a calm read-thru of the instructions proves that the piece is really easy to put together--I did it by myself in under half an hour. My use of a simple ratchet screwdriver, rather than the little screwdriver included with the hardware, speeded up the process somewhat. Everything arrived extremely well-packaged and in excellent condition. All the pieces fit together perfectly without having to force anything. Sitting at the foot of the bed, the bench is the new favourite resting spot for our dogs. I tossed a heavy wool Middle Eastern saddlebag across the cushions, and the hounds now prefer the bench to the bed itself! It is a convenient place to toss the newspaper and books, or to sit down to put on shoes. I have more expensive furniture pieces, but none more useful. A great find!

I bought this item for my hallway thinking it would be a great place to store shoes. I have only had the bench for a couple of weeks and it already has scratches all over it. We take the baskets in and out to store things in and everytime you slide the basket out it scrapes up the wood. The paint is already starting to come off. I am really dissapointed with this bench and would not recommend anyone buying it.

The bench came in one piece and was easy to put together. It took me one hour and was a perfect fit for my entryway. It seems durable and a good price for what you get. It looks good. highly Recommend.

I shop regularly online and am capable of assembling most furniture pieces. For this bench, I could not get 1/2 of the cam-locks to lock, broke a few (I am not that strong!), and was generally dissatisfied with the quality of the piece. I will be returning this to the store tomorrow...

We read all of the reviews & decided to take our chances. We received the item less than 48 hours after we ordered it! We then followed all of the instructions for assembly - my husband had NO issues with the cam bolts. We also took the advice of a previous reviewer & coated the bench and let it dry for a full 24 hours before using it. We also took it a step further & added felt feet to the bottom of the baskets to insure the baskets wouldn't scratch the wood. It's beautiful & exactly what I was looking for - I couldn't be happier!!!!

After assembling the bench, we discovered that the whole bench wobbles...the pegs are definitely not leveled. Now the bench sits in our entryway with folded up papers to level the bench out...

I love this piece. It was what I was looking for to keep my front entrance clear of shoes.
I was worried about the white covers with three kids... but they wash wonderfully.
Only draw back is that the baskets have metal on the bottom and it scratched the bottom under the baskets... Put some tape on the bottom over the metal pieces and it takes care of the problem.
Everyone loves this piece when they come in.

We have had this bench for almost a year and we love it. It is a great place to hide shoes, hats and gloves. Assembly was easy. It took us less than an hour. My only complaint is that the cushions are very light and with kids they get dirty easily. I have washed the cushion covers in the washing machine and they wash up nicely, but need to be ironed after. We put felt under the baskets, after reading other reviews about the baskets scratching the wood. That has worked well and we haven't had any problems with scratching. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase!

I had no problems with assembly unlike what others had mentioned. Also, the bench looks as good as expected, and the construction seems sturdy enough for normal everyday use. I didn't give it 5 stars because there are metal brackets at the bottom of the baskets that will scratch without taking some care putting them away, and the fabric on the cushions isn't what I would call good quality. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised considering the poor reviews that had been posted.

I purchased the bench & the shelf that goes above it.
I assembled the SHELF first and had no problems - The CAM BOLTS & LOCKS work fine and make the piece sturdy (shelf looks really good when finished).
But the BENCH is a different story.....there is NO DOUBT there is a problem with the cam bolts & locks. Other reviewers say the Cam bolts are too short, but I actually think the holes where you lock them in were placed too high on the inner & side panels because the cam bolts themsleves are same length as used on shelf (which constructs together correctly). If the holes are placed too high then there is not enough of the top of the bolt available for the lock to lock/screw onto.
Even if you use the wood glue that comes with package...the cam bolts & locks are what makes the bench sturdy & hold up to sitting on & using....and isn't this what we need to do with it???!!!
My husband is a builder & has been in construction for 25yrs and he instantly knew what the problem was. Maybe some folks got a good set of pcs or maybe some of them dont realise HOW the bolts are supposed to lock with the cam locks.
I was very disappointed that I wasted my time putting both the shelf and the bench together for 16 parts not to work correctly...so I went to [a hardware store] and purchased 16 CAM BOLTS that were the correct size. They work perfectly & bench is sturdy and looks great but thats an extra 20 bucks I had to spend to make this product work.
This is an easy fix....Target SHOULD withdraw this item from their website and get manufacturer to correct the problem.
If the parts all worked, this would be great value for money based on similar benches out there.
