Perfect for my NYC Apartment!

In my building, I cannot use a window unit AC for my bedroom because of the firescape. I thought I would tryout this air cooler contraption. Well, I love everything about it! Most of all, it's quiet and when I use the ice packs it gets really cold in my room. It doesn't take much space, is lightweight and easy to move around. I was weary about my purchase because I live in New York City where it can get very humid and was afraid the evaporative cooler wouldn't work here. It does!

This is the best air"conditioner", I have ever purchased. It was a breeze to set up; the only thing you have to install is a filter. It is SUPER easy to operate and even comes with two ice packs. It does a better job cooling my house than the window unit we have. I was worried the humidifier would make the house feel damp because we live in a VEREY humid climate, but it did not.I will be buying another one of these and recommend it to anyone who likes things that are easy and efficient.

After reading some reviews on other sites I picked this swamp cooler. It uses very little power. It has a timer feature that shuts off automatically at middle of night without us getting up from the bed. Remote control also comes handy. Most importantly, it cools our little room well above our expectation.

I bought this cooler to try and cool my SMALL 1 bedroom LA apartment over this ridiculous heat!!! firstly the water container is open at the bottom so if you have carpet and you move the unit it spills out water secondly i currently have 2 huge fans blowing and added this unit and it feels NO different and lastly i had the unit less then an hour and the LCD stopped working!!! the unit works but the display is empty!!! so this unit is going back.. again in a dry place and hot place this unit is just a big bulking gloried fan that doest really work!!! I am going to try spend the extra 100 buck and get at proper portable AC unit as i cant have window AC units!!!

Last year I had new windows installed. We decided to take out our window mounted cooler and not reinstall it to see if we could reap the benefit of the new windows in the summer time. Well the house gets hot! So to not risk ruining our expensive windows we decided to buy this unit. It's Junk! I live in Colorado, maybe 40% humidity during the day if we're lucky. this unit pumps out more hot air than anything. my infared pyrometer checked it at the vent..87 degrees. it was only 83 in the house. it didn't matter where we placed this unit, it stayed hot. I resintalled my window unit today...its a balmy 73 degrees.

This "air cooler" is beyond useless. The entire principle of an evaporative cooler is to add moisture to the air, thus bringing down the temp by a few degrees. I'm sitting right next to my Sunpentown cooler right now and letting it blow on me - the effect is that my lips and face are getting chapped! That's right - the cooler is pumping out extremely dry air even though it's filled with water. It's basically no better than a glorified fan. Evaporative coolers DO work in dry environments - I have a Convair one that works really well in the living room of my house. This one is another story altogether - A WASTE OF MONEY.

I live in a teeny tiny studio on the beach with no A/C. I can usually just keep the windows open for the ocean breeze, but this summer it is very hot. I love the air cooler! It cools the place, easy to use, hardly any assembly, and portable!

I bought this Air Cooler last summer for our unusually hot, dry summer weather. The ice chamber made all the difference in its cooling. The remote control allows you to easily change settings. The automatic swing, timer and easy portability are wonderful. Not having to replace the filters (washable) is such a savings!

I live in southern California where it's pretty dry but this thing did not cool for me. I took the temp of the room before starting it up and after an hour with ice-cold water, using the cold packs and with ice in the reservoir as well. No change in temp.
Also the instructions are not clear on how you are supposed to drain the thing. Turns out there is a plug on the bottom in the back.
