I found this bookcase online and thought it would be a perfect addition to my new home. I ordered it and when it arrived, it looked like there was a fist sized hole in the side of one of the pieces, unfortunately it was the last piece we pulled out of the box when putting it together so we didn't notice until it was almost completely put together. It looks nice in the picture, but the wood that is used to make it is very cheap and not really solid at all. I am having my father take the measurements and building our own with better wood. If you don't mind the quality of the wood pieces, it will probably work for you..but for the price, I wanted something worth it.

This piece is great. I love the way it brings life to my whole living room. Anyone that walks in always asks where I got it from-it's the first thing they notice. I turned it sideways, and I have my 42" Samsung t.v. sitting on it, and it has to weigh over 100 lbs. I can't lift it myself. At any rate, I was afraid the bookshelf would not be sturdy enough to hold it, but I've had no problems thus far.

I will say that the piece is a little thin in terms of width, and anyone who has toddlers or babies pulling up on furniture for support should seriously consider attaching this thing to the wall, because it seems like if it were standing up as pictured, it would be quite top heavy.

It was easy to assemble, some holes didn't line up correctly, but if you have a drill or something similar, it's easily fixable. I'm a 19 year old college student-if I can put this thing together, anyone can. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Before ordering this piece, I read some of the reviews and wasn't sure rather to purchase the item or not. The piece looked so nice on the picture I decided to take the chance and purchase it anyway. I am so glad I made the right decision. I did not receive any damaged parts and we had no problems with putting it together. This looks great in my computer room. Love it, love it, love it!!!!!!!

We really love this bookshelf. We turned it on its side and it makes a nice divider for our living room. I was reading some of the complaints. Ours didn't arrive broken, thank goodness. The "wood" is cheap (real hardwood would be much more expensive) and those little plastic circles that come with to cover the screws are fairly useless (I don't bother with them). But, all said, I'm very happy with it!

Arrived broken (which it seems is the case for many of the reviewers above), and like a fool I decided to make use of it anyway. Broke into pieces all over my living room.

I bought a large number of furniture items from Target, and a year later, every single one of them is broken beyond recognition. I will never be shopping here again.

I love this bookcase/room divider! I bought it to use as a room divider. One of the center boxes was damaged but still usable. But I got this great idea to use it as a desk. I simply took out one of the center boxes for leg room. With an Exotic Retreat cabinet on each end I have a long desk with display space and use the cabinets to hold office supplies. I have my laptop on the "desk" and my printer on one cabinet top and my lcd tv on the other.

I just love my new book shelf/room divider!!! It was not damaged at all when I recieved mine. It arrived on time. It's a solid peice of funiture once put together. It was very easy to assemble..the directions were precise and the labels were very detailed. GREAT NEW ADDITION TO OUR HOME..VERY STYLISH I'M GLAD I PUCHASED IT...NO REGRETS HERE..

I had to order this shelf twice because the first box came with broken pieces. Instead of Target sending a replacement they only gave me the option of returning it and ordering a new one. I thought that [..] because this box is huge and very heavy. Despite it looking complicated, it was very easy to put together. The parts were labeled properly. The color is nice and the shelf seems sturdy. It's unique looking and different than a typical boring shelf. I put it on it's side horizontally instead of vertically upright. Oh, and the thing about the price: The first time I ordered it was on sale and when I had to get a new one it was back to regular price! Target wouldn't even budge on the price either despite the item being damaged. I thought that was poor customer service.

A wonderful and versatile piece of furniture!
Holds many of my books. We actually own 2 of these, we have one vertical and one horizontal - in different rooms of the house, and no one notices it is the same furniture- it has such a different look in each room.

I highly recommend to those who read!
