My son has loved this toy since he was six months old. He laughs and smiles every time I turn it on for him. I was a bit surprised by the negative reviews. By pressing the button on the puppy's foot, you can pick either the learn or musical mode. The other body parts, such as the hands, ear and tummy, play sounds or songs when you touch them and also identifies body parts and colors. For parent's peace of mind, there is a volume control on its back.

My daughter received this for her first birthday and i was so excited. until we started using it. the buttons are so sensitive anytime you barely brush against the off button it turns off and on and in the middle of a song if you barely move it, the toy will change modes so confusing...my daughter loves to dance with the music but evertyime she moves the song stops and goes into something else. not sure if i have a defective one but i would not recommend it.

My little one received this as a gift when she was just one month old. She absolutely loves it! It is very durable and you have the ability to turn the sound to soft or loud by a simple switch which is hidden within the body. It is very easy to turn the toy "off" when not in use. We've used this daily for 2 months and never had to change batteries yet. She loves to kick her feet to the music and has learned that by gently touching the hands/feet/ear/nose/tummy she can independently play music or nursery rhymes. It only takes a gentle touch so my 3 mo old is interacting with this on her own. This would be a treasured gift.

Son got this from his granny @ 6 months, he is now 21 months and still loves it! When it is singing he usually starts dancing. I put it in his toy box thinking we would put it out of sight for awhile but he found it and now sits beside his bed when he isn't playing with it.
Thinking of getting a couple for Christmas gifts for an 11 month old & 8 month old.

I bought this for my nephew when he was like 4 months old and it scared him at first but after a couple times playing with it, he started to love it. He loves to kiss its nose and when it sings I sing the songs too. We really like this toy and I think every parent should buy this for there child.

My daughter is now 2 1/2 and is now enjoying this toy tremendously. She received it when she was one but I don't think she quite understood what it could do then. She rediscovered it the other day and can't put it down. She can sing along with the songs now and knows which parts of the puppy do what. Great for a 2+ child.

It is very cute, silly and fun... but will not SHUT UP!!! The "OFF" button is a JOKE! It says "bye-bye!" and then as soon as you touch it, it talks again! The thing never shuts up and goes off in my son's toy box ALL NIGHT! I actually have no idea where it is right now and haven't seen it in awhile... thank god. It would be a great toy if you could shut it off!

My 1st son got this as a gift when he was 8 months old and loved it (he didn't like the bunny one). He is now 2 1/2 and will sometimes still play with it. My 11 month old also loves to dance with it. The only complaint I had which others have as well is the buttons are too sensitive. It will change in the middle of songs with the slightest bump. My son likes to dance with it which often makes it go into one song or saying one after the other without finishing what it was trying to say. He still loves it though.

My daughter got this toy for Christmas last year and not only is it annoying, it is creepy. It talks in the middle of the night for no reason. I can't tell you how many times I've had to get up in the middle of the night and shut this thing off because it just starts talking and I'm afraid it is going to wake her up. There's nothing like hearing this little voice coming through the baby monitor at 3am. The only thing it taught her is what sound a dog makes.
