I just bought this piece this weekend and it is absoutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I have the Heirloom Armiore that matches this and they are really excellent quality. I wrote an online review for the armiore and stated for "put it together" yourself furniture it is extremely easy and really does not take that long to assemble. Since this is a divison of Thomasville, I was not leary to buy it, I am so very glad I did. Just can't say enough about it!

Nice looking, but time consuming to assemble

I bought this for my walk in closet not expecting to much, but it's actually a really good looking piece. The wood exterior is wood, not composite, and the stain finish, although not "perfect", is done nicely. I caution those who think this is easy to assemble. Although the directions are simple for the most part, they are vague at times. In addition, the lag bolts strip VERY easily because they are so cheap. I spent almost 6 hours putting it together, which I do not consider a plus. I have assembled most of the furniture I buy from Target, so I am used how they work, but this one is a little bit tougher to work with. I would say if you have the time it's worth it, if not, think twice before you buy.

Although this item is superficially attractive it is flimsy and full of defects. Several pieces were missing. One of the drawer sides cracked completely as the brackets were being installed. The finish was spotty in places and had white spots and other defects which required replacement as well. It is also a royal pain to assemble, being from a family of great installers of such items it was a nightmare. Definitely not worth the price or the effort.

Beautiful Chest

I bought this chest to compliment the Heirloom lingerie chest. It's a beautiful piece of furniture. The fronts, sides, top and base of the chest are real wood, but the back and the insides of the drawers are particle board. The directions are easy to follow, but like the lingerie chest, it's very time consuming. It took me about 5 hours to put it together. I think anyone who purchases this chest will be satisfied.

Do not buy this item. It is not worth the price. First, it took 2 weeks and 3 phone calls, on the third call I told them to cancel the order, before Target put the order through. Second, the instructions were badly written, there where missing steps. Third, you will need a drill to to put this together. Nothing lines up. This took 5 hours to put together. A total nightmare. Target must be out sourceing to China. I will not buy from Target again.

This is not worth the $$. It took hours and hours to put together and when it was finally done I felt that the piece was not sturdy. It arrived with a million pieces and my husband had to literally build the dresser, The only thing he didn't have to do it cut the wood out himself. It's flimsy, looks nice and just as it's pictured, but very flimsy. Save your money and buy something else. I wish I could return it but it was over 75 lbs and everything was out of the box before we knew it was going to be such a problem.

I'm not sure how satisfied you want to be when purchasing this piece, but for the price and cost to ship it, I expected more than I got. I bough two of this item, actually, and one lingerie chest as well. The lingerie chest is stronger and I recommend it. The first of this particular chest that I received was fine. Although it took 5-6 hours to put together, all the pieces were there, so I was happy. It was a little shaky, but became more sturdy when items were placed inside. The second I received took about the same time, except that I realized 2/3 of the way through putting it together that it came with a wrong sized drawer front for the bottom drawer (The bottom drawer is larger than the rest). I now have to call and request them to send the right piece, which will probably take two weeks to arrive. GREAT. In the meantime, it sits in the middle of my living room, waiting to be moved to the bedroom. It also is VERY shaky and I doubt it will go away when filled. If you're debating between the lingerie chest or this chest, I recommend the lingeire chest. It takes up less room, is sturdier, and is more worth the money.

We bought this chest a little over a year ago, it looks like a way more expensive piece of furniture than what we paid for it. It took a couple of hours to put together, but you would never guess it came out of a box. We love it.

very nice color, exactly as it is on the picture. it looks very solid once put together. thought one of the front pieces on the top drawers came scratched in the corner i managed to disguise the scratch with the touch-up pen and staigthen it with nail polish so that you can see the scratch only from very close look. [...] i am planning to buy next the side table which looks really nice in the target store.

looks and feels like a very expensive piece and i only paid $134.00 for it! it didn't take 5-6 hours to put together because i followed the directions word for word and it came out perfect. follow the directions and use a power screwdriver and it should take you about 3 hours at the most.
