WARNING: Spoiler Alert!
The name is indeed catchy and you're likely to be very curious about how the game goes. As much as I'd like you to discover it for yourself (as I have), I'd like to help spare you wasting your money with this game.
The basic object of the game is to pump Gus' head, in turns, until his stomach rises (a latex balloon is underneath the shirt). First one who loses all cards at hand wins. The cards just have illustrations of cartoon food and a number. The foods do not really have any significance. The numbers signify how many times the player has to pump. The cola tokens just stand for extra pumps during your turn. So you see, there is really no cerebral action going on in this game. There's no challenge. I can see players getting very bored easily with this game.
What's more, you run the risk of getting a faulty/defective toy. Indeed, no batteries are required (It's a pump, that's all it is!) but if that pump doesn't work, consider your $$ a waste. Ours didn't work when we first opened it. No matter how much we pumped, the balloon wouldn't inflate. When we inspected for tears or holes there weren't any. And we even replaced the balloon with the extra that came with it. I called Fundex directly and I was instructed to send the UPC code along with my complaint. I have yet to find out how they will fix this problem. But, anyways, that's my problem. And I am hoping you can avoid it, too.

My 5 yr old son was instantly attracted to Gassy Gus. So we purchased it last nite for his Birthday. It is awful! The mechanism to raise and lower Gus is almost impossible to use. I have to jam my car key in the tab to get it to work. Not something that my kids can do on their own and not something that I think the cheap plastic will hold up to for long. It is also very hard to put the balloon securely in place. Gus only comes with 2 balloons and one of them already had a hole in it. I think that Gassy Gus could be mfg a little better. My recommendation is to Pass on Gas!
