I chose this remote for my grandparents. It was cheap and super-easy to set up, and it was easy for the old folks to use. All in all, it does its job well.

This remote is easy to set up and doesn't have a million buttons, and the price is right. But as far as actually using it, it's frustrating. The up/down/left/right buttons are set up as channel and volume, so to use it to navigate DVD menus you have to push the "shift" button. To move from DVD item 1 to 4 you have to push shift, down, shift, down, shift, down (you can't just hold shift). If it doesn't register that you pushed shift, it registers it in its default channel mode and switches your input back to the TV, so you have to start over.

Then, after about 2.5 months, it just stopped working altogether. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I'll be getting a higher quality one next time.

I bought this because I lost the remote to my DVD player. I got it in pink, they had a bunch of different colors (I think also red and blue but maybe more?).

Anyway I had no idea how to set up one of these things and it was so easy -- it comes with a booklet of codes, and you just have to find the one for your make and model, very easy, took about 30 seconds to set it up and it works great. Highly recommended!
