After using it for two weeks it quit. I got more channels with old rabbit ears.

not that great

Reviewer:  Mrs Obee "Melissa O"  (Wausau, WI, USA)  See all my reviews

My husband and i bought this antenna in february because it was the last one target had at the time and we really needed a new one before the transition, as many of our stations switched early. This antenna worked well for a while but it seems to have trouble maintaining a signal. One day we will pull in a station but not another and the next day it switches. We have tried adjusting and moving everything, but it seems to have reached its full potential, and for the cost it really should be better. We are currently looking for a new antenna.

should be 0 stars

The antenna shocked me, arched more than an inch as I was going to adjust it. No idea why or how, but now it doesn’t work and my hand hurts. I’ve had the thing for less then a month and it was plugged in correctly into a surge protector and looks fine on the outside. No intention of replacing this with the same product, don’t waste your money. Frankly it didn’t even work very well before this, now it’s just dead.

doesn't work and ruined my TV

This Antenna never worked, and yesterday it shorted and blew up my TV. SO I had to buy a new TV and antenna. If I could give this product a -0 rating I would.

Got more channels with a broken antenna

Reviewer:  bumrocky "C Burke"  (Charleston, SC)  See all my reviews

My daughter broke the rabbit ears I was using. I could still get several channels, but I was unable to get CBS or PBS. I plugged this in, and the only channel I could get was NBC. All the others were blank. I was getting more with a broken antenna, than this new one.

DOES NOT WORK!

I repeat it does not work. Not only did it stop working after about 3 weeks, I took it back and tried another one and could not get a signal. I bought a cheaper antenna at Radio Shack that works much better... don't buy this one. Save your money

Does not work very well

Reviewer:  CubFan  (Illinois)  See all my reviews

I live in the metro area where my local channels broadcast from and could not get a signal with this antenna. When I first got my new HDTV I hooked my coax cable (fed from the outside cable co. line) directly in to the TV and it acted as an antenna and received the locals quite well. When I got satellite I needed a supplemental antenna for the locals. I purchased this antenna and received about a 25% signal strength. Not enough to get a picture. This antenna needs a pretty direct line of site or be placed near a window. I purchased the cheapest non-amplified antenna ($10) and it works much better. The good news is Target accepted the return with no problems.

It works...sorta

Reviewer:  the bachelor  (Crystal, MN, USA)  See all my reviews

I live right outside the metro area of the Twin Cities in MN. I get 3 HD channels clearing with the 4th coming in intermittently. I am going to go back to the store and try a different antenna to see if it will do the trick to get more channels.

It may work at first, but then....

Reviewer:  DTV- No fun "DTV- NF"  See all my reviews

As others found, this unit worked fine for me at first. (a little better than rabbit ears) Three weeks into using this unit, the antenna stopped picking up a signal. No warning, nothing changed, the unit just quit. I switched it out with the old rabbit ears and the TV worked fine. I switched back to the GE unit and nothing. The next morning I tried again and no change. The blue light is out and the unit does nothing. I am taking it back today. It would appear this unit was not made to last (for me more than three weeks). This is too bad because I have other much older GE devices that have stood the test of time.

.... my old analog antenna works better on the HD converter box. Constantly loose signal strength. My analog rabbit ears that I bought about 15 years ago work better then this item. Funny since my old rabbit ears weren't working all that great so I thought better get a new antenna for the box. I haven't had a problem with the old antenna since. Very odd. Still thinking about going to a roof top version of the HD antennas.
