Garmins MUCH better than Tom Toms! February 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Target Fan "Shelby" (Ohio)  See all my reviews >

I am a true Garmin fan! Let me tell you a few things that Garmins have that Tom Toms dont - Garmins show water and water ways. That helped so much on our trip to Florida when we were on the boat, because with my dad's Tom Tom, it was nothing. And also, with Garmins, the touch screen is better quality. Lastly, Tom Toms make you download locations from online. If you want to go to a Target and you were out, away from a computer, well... your out of luck. With Garmins, everything is already on there! And also on Tom Toms, you cant just search for a "gas staion" or "food". You have to type in a specific place like Speedway or Bob Evan's. Garmins are sooo much better! Its worth the price!

Awesome GPS April 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Peter (Chef D.) (Spring Hill,Fl. USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought this GPS because we were going to Ft.Lauderdale for a cruise and had no IDEA where or how to get there. Well first, this unit is so very EASY to set up and use that I didn't feel "challenged" at all. The best part was that the parking lot that we were leaving our car in was going to be so hard to find that our unit got us there with so miscalulations at all. Our friends who were ahead of us by 30 min. got to the lot 5 min.after us.Their GPS made several wrong turns....This is my first GARMIN and with free traffic updates, How will I go wrong????

A VERY GOOD GPS !!! February 26, 2009 Reviewer:  Fly Boy "Sgt Mike" (Lakewood, CO, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought This unit 8 weeks ago and am real happy with it. The lifetime traffic is a big bonus showing you upcoming heavy traffic and a reroute feature if you want it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it told me to turn the wrong way after I pulled out of a restaurant. It corrected itself within seconds! I paid [a little less] but that was around Christmas time. I also got the Garmin bean bag dash mount and am very happy with it as I don't have any permanent mount on my windshield !

Best GPS on the market for the money August 17, 2009 Reviewer:  Ocean & Noah's grandpa "Ben JC" (Iowa)  See all my reviews >

Pros:
Great GPD for the $$’s. Easy enough for the non-technical person to program and operate. The Bluetooth phone calling is very handy, the GPS voice prompts come at the right times with clear concise turning and directions, free updated map downloads for life, free garage downloads to change the little car to a variety of animated icons, many different and easy things that can be done other than GPS (fuel consumption, photos etc). Helpful Garmin service people who answered my questions on accessories that I purchased after my initial GPS purchase at Target.

Cons: computer map downloading can take up to 2-6 hours, but still cheaper than paying for a CD upgrade $119.00 or a fee of $13 to $20+ paid to a tech.
Highly recommended and very much used and enjoyed little gadget. In my book this is the best GPS on the Markey for the money.

don't buy it for the traffic updates... October 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Not Easily Impressed "Wesley Presley" (Ladera Ranch, CA)  See all my reviews >

Bluetooth and Navigation get the job done. However, I bought this unit specifically for traffic updates.

I commute in the Southern California area. The FM signal it receives the traffic updates has great coverage. Unfortunately, the traffic updates aren't accurate. I often find myself sitting at a stand still on the freeway and the nuvi has no idea traffic is jammed. The opposite happens too... I jumped off the freeway for what the Nuvi thought was a horrible 10 mile traffic jam. I drove along the frontage road at 45 miles an hour behind a truck and watched cars speed past me on the highway at speeds 70+.

I was using google maps on a mobile device for traffic prior to purchasing the nuvi. It was very accurate. Unfortunately, that service was blocked by the company I work for.
