We are a green family so we chose to use cloth diapers. I was reading the review about not using them because they are too thin, but the thing is you have to use more than one. Depending on how big your baby is or how old it is, is how you decide how many you use. They aren't disposable diapers, so one can't expect that they will absorb like a disposable. You have to be more diligent you have to work a little harder to use a cloth diaper because it means washing them, and keeping them until you can clean them instead of just throwing them in the garbage. Cloth keeps all those diapers a baby uses from birth to 2 or 3 out of the landfills. I'd recommend these diapers to anyone and not just as a burp cloth, you can use a towel for that.

These are great diapers if you understand what they are and how to use them. Gerber also has prefolded diapers and they are packaged almost identical. Be sure you know what you are getting, prefold diapers are several layers thick with extra padding down the center-flat fold diapers are a single layer and are about 27"x27" before washing. They are 100% cotton so they will shrink down a bit in the wash-this is normal.

I use these as back up diapers on wash day and they work just fine. There are some "how to" tutorials online and videos to explain how to fold them.

Flat diapers wash completely-no staining-and dry in about 5 minutes in the dryer or ,weather permitting, on the line.

Flats are also great for burp cloths, household uses, or even in the garage or shop.

I have not used these as diapers, so I can't speak to their effectiveness in that arena. However, they have been indispensable when it comes to other uses. These make perfect burp cloths, light blanket, carrier sunshade, Peek-a-boo apparatus, "Quick! Sop up the grape juice before it spills off the table onto the carpet!!!" rag, and many, many more uses, some of which I probably haven't discovered yet. One year after my son was born, I can honestly say that these are in my Top 5 Essential Items for new parents. I know there are tons of adorable designer burp cloths out there, but if you need a real workhorse, buy a pack of these flat-fold diapers. If you have a really heavy spitter, go for a pack of the pre-folded ones; they're awesome too. I did read one review that questioned why anyone would use these as burp cloths since they are so expensive. I was a little confused by that but wanted to address it anyway. These diapers/burp cloths come out to 85 cents apiece! I'm hard-pressed to think of any other baby item that is as affordable as this. Buy these or register for them. They are wonderful!

I was given a package as a shower gift when my first baby (now 4.5) was born. I used them as burp cloths. At around 8 or 9 months of age I noticed the way my son would find one, cuddle it, and calm down. I would tuck one in with him at night and in the stroller or car seat. He has been addicted ever since. The best part is we can't lose the precious lovey. I've got 15+ laundered and waiting for him.

I now have a 10 month daughter, and sure enough, she loves them too. Of all the cloths, blankets, and other soft baby toys, these Gerber cloth diapers stand out as the hit of the house.

I loved these diapers, would use them again with future children. I don't get why people would only use them as burp cloths, as they were meant to be diapers. Who would pay $11 for burp cloths? It's a great money saver in terms of diapers though. They are thin, hence the reason you use more than one for a diaper. I agree with the lady who said they don't absorb the same way a disposable diaper does, so you have to work a little harder. That being said, I absolutely loved these.

Classic baby item, must-have for spit up and other newborn accidents. Indespensible really. Great to have the 12 pack to keep around different rooms of the house. I have some "designer" burp cloths I use when I'm out and about, but these are really the best. They are plain and simple, get the job done and clean up well.

I think these things are getting a bad rap here. Folding flat fold diapers takes a little practice, and THEY REQUIRE A DIAPER COVER but they are wonderful. My mom used them on me, i use them on my daughter. I love them. Much better than the expensive all in one diapers on the markets.

I don't use these as diapers, I actually have them for quick cheap burp cloths. They work great.. a little thin, but they do the job well. I have a small diaper bag and they are smaller so they fit in there well. Also, its hot where I live so they work great as light blankets. Edges roll in after washing, however.

I use these as burp cloths because they are extremely absorbent. The more you wash them the softer they become.
