About UV-C June 12, 2008 Reviewer:  Lara (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

If the person who felt that UV-C was dangerous had continued with her online research, she would have realized that UV-C (short wavelength) is used in many medical facilities, in water tanks, and for the purpose of general sterilization. As long as it is filtered and properly encased and sheilded, such as with this air sanitizer, it is harmless to humans and is a successful method of destroying bacteria, viruses and other micro organisms.

That being said, I haven't purchased the item; I simply wanted to clear that up for anyone worried about the danger of the item.

love it! September 1, 2009 Reviewer:  buggymom (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)  See all my reviews >

I got this for my baby's room before he was born. I really love it. I have it plugged in right next to the diaper pail, and the room never smells like soiled diapers. I also like the fact that it has a light similar to a nightlight and my baby seems to be soothed by the low humming noise. The bulb only lasted 7 months for me, but the couple of days when I had it unplugged waiting to get a new bulb, my baby didn't seem to sleep as well. I found replacement bulbs in my Target store, so I didn't have to wait or pay for shipping. I also purchased the table top air purifier, which I also love. The only thing is, this is an air sanitizer, not a purifier, so it won't remove dust and dander, just germs and odor.

This is a great product! September 8, 2008 Reviewer:  USA See all my reviews >

This is a great product! The only thing wrong with it is that it is made to hang flush on a wall. It is very well made and the UVC light is protected by a shield that must be unscrewed to replace the bulb, making it extremely safe to use. The air is sucked into it by a little fan, where it is zapped by the light and recirculated throughout the room. This means you should place it somewhere it can get easy access to the air, like near a vent or in a drafty area. I bought one to clear the air in our basement of any possible floating mold spores after a heavy rain caused a flood. It left the air smelling really fresh and clean. I liked it so much that I gave one to a friend with allergies and she liked it so much, she moved it all over her house to get the air clean everywhere. I plan to buy some more for when the house is closed tight for the winter.
Also, the replacement bulb is not very expensive at $10-20 each depending on where you buy it.

Not so good June 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Government See all my reviews >

Had this for a few months now and I feel it is to small to do any good. I have it in the bedroom about 12feet away from me and still cant use it because it makes to much noise. You might not hear it in the day time but at night when you are trying to sleep you will. I wanted to use it in the winter, when everyone is gets sick and the windows are closed but my silent air cleaner also catches viruses so... I might trash it. I dont know where to put it because it is so small I dont think its good for anything bigger than a closet.

The Safety of UVC April 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Allie "Allie S" (Dallas, Texas USA)  See all my reviews >

If you look up UVC (Short wavelength) on line, you will discover that UV is certainly not safe or a benign method of cleaning anything. You the user need to read and heed the maker's directions and warnings packed with each unit sold.
