After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to respond. My son is almost 2 1/2 years old and this monitor is still kicking strong! The two recievers are great for having one in the living room and one in the master bedroom or to carry outside,especially when we lived in a two-story. I have not had problems with static or clearity of sound. In fact it picks up almost too much (voices outside the window, etc.) One quick tip, make sure you attach the battery, it does not come attached and that is why at first I couldn't get it to stay charged. Then I realized the battery was not attached, I just assumed it was when I first purchased it. I have used it since Jan. of 2007 and 2 years later, I am still using it!

We have used these monitors for about 10 months and are pretty satisfied. They have good range, don't interfere with phones, etc. but they do not hold a charge very long. If you take them off the base they are good for about 20-25 minutes. Since there are two, I can easily switch them out when one runs out of power, but it's a pain if we're working in the yard when the baby is napping.

I put this item on my registry because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports. I love this monitor. The vibrate function is great and the reception is amazing. The transmitter is a good 3 feet from the crib and if I turn the receiver volume all the way up I can hear my baby breathing. And this monitor uses an uncommon frequency so it won't cause problems with your cordless phone.

I am not sure why others had problems but we have lived in both an apartment and a house and they worked perfect at both places. In fact it worked so good that I could actually hear him breathing and the t.v. in the next room. I love it! I still use it and my son is 20 months now. Plus I have another on the way and plan on using it when it comes time. I would highly recommend.

I got this as a gift for my new baby. The battery life is not long at all, and the reception is very short. It does not reach from one room to another. I would not recomend this for nothing in the world.

Your money is better spent on anything else. It beeps due to lost signal throughout the night, leading you to want to turn it off just to try and get some sleep! This is the worst baby product we have used for our 2 month old.

I would not recommend this monitor to anyone. The receivers do not hold a charge so they have to stay on the chargers which makes it hard when you want to be ouside while your child is napping. Also there is a lot of static and they loss their signal quite often. I am so disappointed and with a second child on the way I have to but new monitors.

After only 4 months of usage, one of the receivers totally died. Now, after 5 months of usage, the other will not hold a charge for a very long time. When both receivers were working, I could clearly monitor my baby in the nursery, but now, with just the one receiver working, I have started hearing more and more static over time. I am especially disappointed with this product because it was highly recommended by Consumer Reports. I am attempting to troubleshoot the issues, but for the price, it is not worth the purchase.

Purchased this exact item with the two recivers. My first born is now 2. I wish I had two monitors and 2 recievers now that I have 2 kids. The rechargable battery lasts maybe 10 mins on one reciever and 5 mins on the other these days. I always have them on the charging station. Also I hate that it beeps when a car goes by, or in certian parts of my house.
