I purchased this ice shaver for my step-moms birthday. She has been very happy with it since.

A few say this item is noisy, but I have to say I was impressed with the low noise level. After all, it is shaving ice. It makes about the same noise as a paper shredder if not less.

It has two settings: Slushy and Snow Cone. Turning the ice hopper lid closed turns the machine on making it safer for children to operate. You can also operate it without the agitator in the receiving bin.

We bought this for my 9 yr old's summer money making venture. This is what she had to say "It's easy to use, fast, and takes very little time to shave a tall glass of ice. I love it. It doesn't make very much noise. It's worth the price because it works wonderfully." Right from the mouths of babes.

This is the BEST Ice Shaver.

After a LOT of research and lots of reading of product reviews, I purchased this product at Target.

It makes PERFECT SHAVED ICE.

You can load it with ice cubes and walk away and return to a large container of perfectly shaved ice. It takes slightly longer than the Rival Ice Shaver, but you don't have to baby-sit it the whole time. I find you do not need to use the ice stirring paddle unless you want to flavor the ice in the container.

All the parts are top-shelf dishwasher safe. Assembles and disassembles easily. EASY operation.

I have tried several other products and given the deficient ones to Goodwill.

I don't want to spend the $400 that Consumer Reports says in necessary to purchase the best blender for crushing ice.

And there is a DIFFERNCE between crushed ice and shaved ice.

I will keep as a back-up a Rival Ice Shaver ($19.99 at Wal-Mart) however, it wastes a LOT of ice, which you either have to clean out after crushing OR clean up the water mess on your counter (later after it melts and you can't get it all out, so there is ALWAYS water mess). It is NOISY and you have to empty the container before all your ice is crushed.

I have burned up a ($119.99 at Target) Kitchen Aid Blender that is supposed to crush ice on all speeds. It did create pretty fine crushed ice, however, it's hard to do very much at a time, and there are inconsistent sizes of ice chips.

I eat probably 10 cups of crushed ice a day . So I have bought this machine 4 different times. As I said I use it daily. It would be good if your only going to use it on occasion. But with plastic parts it does not hold up well . My last one only lasted a month. Now I'm looking into something more sturdy due to the fact that I'm tired of paying approx [..]a month for a new one.By now I could of bought a good one. But if you just gonna use it around the pool or for a kids party , its ok for that.

I purchased this icy treat maker a month ago. I did read the reviews and seen some were bad but i didn't care, i purchased it any way. it's the BEST ice shaver i have used to date! it crushes a 32oz cup of ice for me in less than 3minutes. I use it on the snow cone setting with the piece attached in the middle so i dont have to monitor it, and it's just wonderful. I use this maker about 4-6 times a day & i am recommending this item to all ice lovers such as myself.

This thing is GREAT!!!! We bought this for my kids for the summer since we live in CA and it has been AWESOME! Yes of course it's a little loud... it's shaving ICE!! That's to be expected but other than that, we've never had a jam, it makes perfect 'shaved ice' and we use it almost every day. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone. It's easy to keep clean and small enough to store just about anywhere. VERY GOOD LITTLE MACHINE!!!

I bought a different version of a snow cone maker and returned it that same day and then found this one at Target. I love it!! My son and I have used it several times already and he even had friends over to enjoy an icy with us. They think it is the coolest thing. It is noisy, but that is ok with us. Like the other reviewer wrote in, it lets you know when someone is making one and you can ask for one also. :-)

my friends mom has this, and it's awesome! We make them all the time, and it's well worth it. I am going to buy one for myself.

It's perfect! And you'll spend just as much if not more on going to DQ during the summer...

I'm 8 1/2 mo's pregnant and Anemic so crunching ice is a life savor. I couldn't be happier with this purchase! After reading the reviews on several machines in the last few days, I decided on this one and ran out and bought it this afternoon. I was barely through the door before I started opening the box. I scanned through the instructions as I unpacked it and had a nice fat bowl of icee goodness in just minutes! Couldn't care less how loud it is (it's ice, c'mon) and let's just say my patience wasn't even remotely tested in the length of time it took to fill the bowl entirely. Not a single negative thing to say. One happy prego lady's dream come true - I'm off to make the next batch!
