Just like the movie, where the cars glow from underneath.. this blender has the same effect. The blue light is very cool, but don't just buy it for its looks. I do a lot of entertaining, and wanted a blender that also was able to handle vigorous ice chopping. I bought this last night and its first test "drive" was to grind up 12 solid ice cubes from a generic ice cube tray and it did so flawlessly. It is of very sturdy construction, very heavy base with rubber on the bottom for good gripping action. The pitcher is large, and is also made of glass, which I prefer to Polycarbonate pitchers. The cap is sturdy yet flexible, so that it grips the top of the pitcher preventing leaks during operation. I loved my Oster model, which I burned the actual motor driver off of. But I think, I may love this one more. Excellent blender, with an even better price point.

My mom bought this blender after years of junk blenders. We love it! This blender actually blends things properly and doesn't leave huge chunks.
The reason I only gave it four stars is that you have to remember to turn off the "Power" button, a feature that can get annoying.

i read all the reviews on here and other sites before taking the plunge and am i glad i did! this baby is used almost daily and i use frozen fruit and six ice cubes for my daily smoothies. i have discovered that any negatives have to do with operator error. if you are blending frozen fruit, cold liquid and ice, the contents can sometimes become so cold that they cling to the sides of the blender and the blades whir without blending. just add more liquid and/or use a wooden spoon to push the ingredients back toward the blades. you will only have to do this once and then be prepared for a frozen, frosty, fab concoction. always make sure you have enough liquid--milk, or fruit juice is best depending on the type of smoothie.

Hamilton Beach has made a blender that is both esthetically pleasing and performs as well as it looks. Anyone who comes to my apartment notices the blue light shining down on the counter and immediately asks what it is. When I tell them it is my blender the next question is, "What kind is it!" Everyone loves it. They don't even ask how well it works but I tell them it is the best blender I have ever owned. It is so easy to use because of the way the buttons to use it are situated. Even they shine that beautiful blue color. It is also very safe to use and a few of the reasons are, when I take the jar off the large base makes it so easy to place on the counter top without worring that it will tip over. Also it has one red light that flashes when it is ready for use so I know to be extra careful. Last but not least it has more then enough power for everything I have used it for. This really is a great blender.

I make smoothies every day after school for my kids, but my old blender (which I've had several years) takes a long time to crush the ice and blend the ingredients. Also, I have to stop several times to stir it by hand so that everything gets down to the blades. I purchased this Liquid Blu blender because I wanted one strong enough to chop up ice when making smoothies, and this blender did have the power to do that (800 watts). It worked great the first five times I used it, but when I turned it on the next time the motor was completely dead. The lights worked, but that was it. I returned it to the store. I did not want to buy another one of these and take the chance that it would also quit after a few uses, so I am still looking for a new blender. In the meantime, I'm still using my reliable old one.

I make a smoothie almost every day and this machine is the best I have used. I'm sure if I had $400 to spend on a super machine it would be better, but I don't.

This one has four blades and will keep the fruit stirring and crushing around continuously unlike the other brand that starts with an O's blender I had before that would just whirl and do nothing unless I stopped every 30 seconds and stirred the fruit.

It is also quieter than any other I have used.

Only bad thing I have to say is I think it is ugly, but that is personal taste and I value function over appearance.
